E. mailing.

DD always text if it's just something short. Sometimes that will be more than once in a day. If I need to talk to her I will text her and ask her to tb when she's free. I will then call her. Too often I have called whilst one of DGC is in meltdown.

annodomini will certainly put up picture of me underneath "the hat" but will have to wait until beginning of Septwhen I do a trial run, its stored in the loft now so none of the family see it.

j08 , I am the same with txts. I feel Miss Wright ,our English teacher , looking over my shoulder and I even have to check and amend any mistakes before I send.My sister and I just love txting,we share doing a crossword every evening - it doesn't interrupt whatever we are watching on the television.

Big thumbs up from me there J08 - you may remember a previous thread in which I inveighed against LOL/CU /L8R/COFY etc. I also try to text in the Queen's English (but like my typing, am liable to typos)

All my texts are in complete English and with proper punctuation. [haughty sniff]

I actually like talking to people. Texts and emails are OK for different time zones or when you know somebody is busy, but it's nothing like a real conversation. Some of the misunderstandings we have exoerienced on GN might not have happened if people had been actually talking to each other face to face...

Actually dare i say it , I actually text speak things they don"t know !!

So useful to be able to text or email before I forget what I wanted to say. Also does away with the worry that I might ring about something trivial when she's in the middle of some domestic crisis (and vice versa)

I like facebook for the same reason. I can keep in touch with old friends and comment on things as they happen, instead of forgetting half the things I wanted to say when it comes to the annual Xmas letter.

Nonu can you read "text speak" when DGSs text me it takes about an hour to work out what they have told me !! good job they never need me urgently I would never understand what they where saying
