How much money would you like

Having a discussion about this with a friend.
There are no limits.
Mine is roughly £75,000,000. Let me explain why. I would love to navigate the earth in a space shuttle. I think that's roughly £25,000,000.
I would love my own Golf Stream Jet. Then I could just flit anywhere I wanted when I got bored with a place.
The remainder would go to family ( with restrictions, smile) and anyone I thought I could help.
I would set up a chain of Garages that would be maned by women mechanics, where women could go and hopefully not get ripped off. Well I would make sure they weren't !

When I think what one could do with such large sums of money....whatever I say will sound pious and prissy, however that doesn't matter. I think of helping with access to clean water, freedom from preventable diseases, alleviation of poverty - the list is endless. Just to make people's lives bearable. Better stop now.

I am content with what I have. But should I be gifted with millions then ditto what Ariadne has said.

It would be good to have enough to make a difference to others living difficult lives across the world as Ariadne says.

But if it is a question of money just for me then I would like enough spare to clear some members of my family's debts and some to offer my DD £25k to help her move to a house with a garden for her boys. So £100K would do the job..dream on!

To start with, about £50,000 to fix this house up and make it bearable to live in. If we`re talking real BIG money, and it`s just for us, about 5 million would be nice. A fair bit for each of the kids and grandchildren, a bit for hubbies and my families, a slice divided between a few charities, and a nice house and furniture for us to enjoy in our remaining years.

petra, I thought I would be the only gran who would like to see the earth from space. Do you think they would give us a discount if there were two of us? Or perhaps we could get a group discount and get it down to about £15,000,000. hmm

I have enough for myself, if I was given any extra I would use it to ensure that people never had to sleep on the street.

I have enough for now. My biggest worry is care home fees. It would be nice to be able to stay here but afford my own private nursing staff, day and night, and not worry about cooking food etc. I can but dream.

I never really think about it. I suppose most people, including me, wouldn't mind a windfall that would make life easier, but as I don't do the lottery I've never really considered how much money I would like. Probably not millions as I think it would just become a headache dealing with the admin of having that much.

Like absent I never really think about it. We have been very fortunate in life so can live comfortably without money worries, knowing we have the money to see us through any emergencies, including self funding ourselves in the Care home of our choice, if it should ever be needed. I am quite content with that.

I was talking to a lady who works in a shop about the lottery and she was telling me that most people she spoke to said the first thing they would do would be to help out the family, i.e pay off their mortgages etc, then if there was anything left they would have a holiday we are a nice bunch really!
