soop I've got everything crossed for you, I'm sure the viewers will fall in love with the sea view as well as your wee hoose smile sunshine

Number Poor lady. I remember that an elderly lady went missing when we lived in Cornwall. Sadly, she had wandered into the river and drowned.

numberplease Thu 18-Apr-13 15:33:10

Soop and Butty, all the best with your house viewers, that sounds promising Soop.
Very windy again, I`m sure I felt the house shaking during the night!
We`ve had a flyer through the door from the police, about a 76 year old lady from down the road, she`s been missing for 10 days now, last seen walking down the road near here. They`ve been searching the canal outside our house, but no sign as yet, but can`t see the news being good after all this time.

soop Thu 18-Apr-13 14:59:08

So many good vibes. Thanks to each and every one of you. flowers

Butty Isn't it nerve-wracking stuff! I wish you successl. x

The agent pulled into the drive at 12.55. I went into a flat spin. Rory looked concerned. Mr soop said something like...shall we wait until the viewers arrive? I didn't reply. I ran from the house and handed the agent the key. Mr soop followed, and off we set for the village. We passed four cars en route. We thought that a silver car may have belonged to the viewers. Turns out that we were right.

An hour later, the agent phoned to say that the viewing went "very well"...there was talk of the possibilities of either building in the roof or adding an extension to the side of the house. The sun shone. The sea looked lovely. Agent says that the couple have sold their home and are cash buyers. Also have one other property to view; a bungalow in Tarbert - larger, but nowhere near as interesting - [agent's words] He added, I shall be most surprised if there isn't an offer on your home. smile

Well, we did our best to give a pleasing first impression. Can't seem to locate a few bits and bobs and other stuff that I hid away. grin

I shall keep you updated. sunshine

soop [vibes] [vibes] ! smile

We are getting April showers – very heavy ones – but between them today I have got some washing dry and scythed some rushes and dock near the pond, raked up the bits and added them to my composting 'fence'. Saw one tadpole smile

Butty Thu 18-Apr-13 13:14:59

Thanks when. We've had a fair smattering of viewings over the past couple of months, but we've just had 3 'no-shows' on the trot! Intensely irritating but I try to remain pragmatic. Another tomorrow.
The upside is that the weather is beautiful, the cherry trees are just popping into blossom and it's a good place to be .......... for a while.

whenim64 Thu 18-Apr-13 12:14:52

Hope your viewings have been successful butty and soop. It's a blowy day here, and the remaining leaves I was (eventually) planning to sweep up have disappeared out of my garden, to be replaced by a slice of bread with a hole in it (magpies) and someone's empty compost bag. Perhaps when these March winds have blown, we'll get some April showers in May [confused emoticon]

matson Thu 18-Apr-13 11:56:51

windswept and not so interesting in the north ! x

shysal Thu 18-Apr-13 11:52:01

Hope it goes well soop. When I was selling a house I tried to keep it tidy at all times, but the person who bought it was the one who turned up when I was doing the ironing, surrounded by piles of clothes!

ninathenana Thu 18-Apr-13 11:50:20

Good luck soop
Sunny and breezy here in North Kent. I have washing on the line for only 2nd time this year yeah!!

nanaej Thu 18-Apr-13 11:33:37

Breezy and blustery day here too but blue sky and sun breaking out regularly! DGD1 braved a summer dress for school today..she may regret it!

Soop hope all goes OK and glass hope your roof stood up to the wind test!

Ariadne Thu 18-Apr-13 11:22:37

Thinking of you, soop! Let us know how it goes. xx

Butty Thu 18-Apr-13 11:08:53

soop Feel for you!

soop Thu 18-Apr-13 11:04:57

A breezy good morning to you all. There is moisture in the air. Bound to rain...windows have been cleaned. wink

I didn't get to sleep until 3 this morning. You know why hmm...the agent will be here soon with a couple we haven't met, and together they will view our home. Mr soop and I will visit our pal in the village. The house is wee...five people [and Rory] wouldl constitute a crowd. wink

People don't live in perfect homes, as a rule. Do you agree? Yet, I feel that I must devote the entire morning to spit and polish and all that nonsense. Must be borderline barmy! I'm inviting flack from a few of my trusty GN friends.

Glass I trust that the roof is sound and still in situ.

I've finished drinking two mugs of strong coffee. It's time to return to the list of jobs that I believe are essential [to create the right impression]. I would love to have you here to boss help me through the morning. Elegran and Bags could bake bread and a cake. After which, we could huddle together and make each other laugh. I'd like that a lot. grin

glassortwo Thu 18-Apr-13 10:28:00

We had a really windy night here in the North East, I kept waking through the night and hoping the new roof up at the house is still on.

I would not admit to DH that I was worried as he is the worst worrier imaginable so when he voiced his fears I said dont be daft it is new and will be stronger than an old roof it will be fine, then spent the rest of the night thinking of having to put the roof back on again. hmm

merlotgran Thu 18-Apr-13 09:43:41

Worst Fen blow for years in Cambridgeshire. All curtains are closed to try to keep the fine soil at bay - it gets on the floor, furniture, everywhere. Closed windows can't deal with it. Our paths are covered in black soil 'dunes' and the plants will have to be hosed clean when it's all over. Chickens can't be let out and the dogs will NOT get a walk. I'm about to set off for Cambridge for a meeting and I'm not looking forward to driving in it. sad

dorsetpennt Thu 18-Apr-13 09:17:18

Sunny and breezy here in Dorset. After nearly 3 weeks of illness, I finally feel well, well enough to go into town for some shopping. Get better vegasmags

Sook Thu 18-Apr-13 09:16:19

Good Morning all. Woke up this morning feeling very grateful that our roof hadn't blown off during the night. A howling gale blew up last night it was really ferocious. It's a wind down day for me as I look after my 3 DGC Mon -Wed. I've had a lovely walk across the fields with the dogs, a leisurely breakfast and now catching up with Gransnet. It's still a bit of a hang on to your hat sort of day but at least the washing will dry on the line today grin

Michael are you counting down the days to your 65th birthday?

vegasmags Thu 18-Apr-13 08:58:30

Very windy and rainy here in Manchester. Nursing a stinking cold and a broken toe inflicted on me 3 weeks ago by a woman in Tesco who rammed me with her trolley and then waved me aside without an apology.
However, off to Chetham's music school today for a tour of the medieval library followed by a concert performed by some of the students, so that should take my mind off my misery.

Galen Thu 18-Apr-13 08:44:00

Fine but very windy. Off to work. Catch up later.
