Thanks, cathy. A beautiful duet.

I cried! They do need a bit of polishing but Simon Cowell will make sure they get it. The dancing couple were wonderful too, but they have sacrificed their social lives to perfect their skill. I suppose you have to have that type of dedication to make it in a tough world.

You're thinking of the wrong programme greatnan. Simon Cowell is on Britain's Got Talent - this is from The Voice.

We are enjoying the Voice even more this year as the judges know each other better this year and are less ratty with their colleagues. I feel so sorry when they don't turn round but it is usually for good reason.

Just caught a bit of BGT and saw a little 5 year old dancing.... I do not agree with children being put through that for adult's praise.

Greatnan Mon 22-Apr-13 14:16:41

OOps - I didn't open your link, but there was a lovely couple of brothers on BGT who sand The Impossible Dream.
I don't watch the voice because I don't like modern pop music, it sounds as it they are shouting and screaming to me (Which is just what my dad said about my type of music in 1956.

I don't think you can count the flower duet as modern pop music, although it might have been in 19C.

Greatnan Mon 22-Apr-13 15:22:26

I didn't watch The Voice so I have no idea what was sung.

Ana Mon 22-Apr-13 15:23:32

It's in the link, Greatnan...

The teachers were great. I also thought Jessica Steele had potential, and was surprised no one turned round for her. They told her to come back next year, I felt so sorry for her.

Thank you, Ana, I didn't look at the link because I thought I had seen the show in question.

Ana Mon 22-Apr-13 16:21:25

I just thought you might have looked at it after you'd realised you hadn't seen the show in question, so you'd know what the song was. That's what I did.

Greatnan Mon 22-Apr-13 16:24:09

Very commendable.

I saw the two sandwich makers on BGT that sang Impossible Dream, they were really good.

cathy Mon 22-Apr-13 16:41:05

Ana it doesn't matter its just a programme, its not worth making Greatnan feel un comfortable about it smile

Nonu Mon 22-Apr-13 16:42:51

Beautiful , Well done Carla and Barbara .

Ana Mon 22-Apr-13 16:43:18

I don't think I could ever make Greatnan feel uncomfortable, cathy! grin

Ana Mon 22-Apr-13 16:44:42

Not that I would want to, of course - I think you've misinterpreted my intentions.

Greatnan Mon 22-Apr-13 16:48:41

Thanks, Cathy, but Ana is correct. I never feel uncomfortable about anything said to me, or about me, on a forum.

I just saw the end of BGT and was horrified at the very small 5-year-old who was dancing. What were his parents thinking of? I have a GS the same age whose parents wouldn't dream of putting him on the stage; and he would be far too stroppy to agree to it anyway!
It came as a surprise to hear an operatic duet on The Voice and I'm not sure what the judges made of them, although they were all charmed by them.

Greatnan Mon 22-Apr-13 17:12:37

I finally managed to open the right link, Cathy, and I thought they were wonderful, but they were on the wrong show. I don't think any of those judges could handle a classical duo. Paul Potts did very well after BGT.

cathy Mon 22-Apr-13 18:00:18

That is true G but what the black guy said after the clip is that its good to have something different smile
