Safe in the knowledge that you had "got it all out of your system" !

Mind you they could be still clutching one of their major organs at the time !

grin

When people heard the shredder going, they would know it was safe to speak to you!

Movedalot, well sort of, we have just had half an hour me trying to put a few plants in and her 'helping' and running around as if possessed (dog not me)

Oh - and Daisy the Cat always comes in there with me....females together, shrugging off male attitudes! grin

I've got a 'huff room'! It has a bed like the Princess and the Pea's, and is piled with cushions and has a big soft real eiderdown. There is a TV for when I feel like it and most of my books are in there. I don't tend to be a 'huffer', but it's the room I go to when we've had a row and I can't bear to be sharing my space! Don't use it often, but it's a comfort to know it's there! wink

Dogs do wonderfully expressive huffs I think grin

Movedalot Wed 24-Apr-13 13:35:40

Bet the dog wins! smile

Have just overheard the dog 'Huff'.....a deep slow long out-breath....she thinks its time for a walk....I do not.

The loo has always been my huffy room. It's the only room with a lock on the door.

A quick walk to the bottom of the garden suffices to shrug off a huff, that'll be me as OH doesn't 'huff', wouldn't want a huff room as that would only encourage me to continue 'huffing'. grin

There would be no point whatsoever in us having a Huff room as we just do not huff .

Lot of laughter -- yes .

Does not mean however we spend every minute of every day together , we don"t .

I think I would hate to have a specific room to huff in, it would feel so strange to use it when nothing was wrong!

We no longer 'huff' but do decide to get away from each other occassionally (I think there is a slight difference) and fortunately each have our own study, his with a television and mine with a radio, both with our computers. A little time away from each other sometimes is a good idea.

My wax doll is made of blu tak

Elegran Wed 24-Apr-13 11:30:04

Tissues.
Chocolate
Alcohol (but not a lot of it. A little softens the huff. Too much makes it worse.)
Wax doll and pins.
Teddy to hug.
Paper and pen to write it all down.
Shredder to destroy what you have written when you have recovered.
Cd player and your favourite CDs.

Hello shysal.....knew I always like Sarah Millican! I am not an argueing type.....much more of an huffer! Think I would need a decent cuppa and a nice stash ofbig glossy magazines - the sort the hairdresser has that are far too trivial but you like them when you are not buying them. And then it would be nice if the cat joined me.......because shes good to stroke, and thats very calming.

I enjoy reading Sarah Millican's 'View from the Sofa' in the Radio Times. This week she recommends that every shared home should have a huffy room where one of you can go after a disagreement, even if it is only a toilet. Do you agree with her, and what would you have stashed in this room in readiness?
