It's that non-musical slightly whining, slightly grating voice. To be fair, I don't think yawping is a real word – just a family invention. Yes, it's just a song though less of the quality of Nessun Dorma or even When I'm Cleaning Windows.

I love this song. He has a great voice.

I agree about the croaking grating, absent but I've heard a lot worse.. I think Mishap calls it vomit-voice!

cathy first time I was aware I had a lyrics problem was singing to On Ilkley Moor Baht'at. No resemblance to what I sang as a child...and the problem has continued.
