The need to be formally 'married' is changing anyhow. I wish Lara and Sam all the best in their joint life ventures.

Thanks, eveybody. I have just spoken to her on the phone. They will be buying a diamond ring with the vouchers, then I suppose they will make a formal announcement of their engagement and have a party. For me, an engagement just means a promise to marry, whether or not you have the ring and the party, so I consider Sam to be her fiance already.
They will be selling the new car towards their deposit on a house.
I don't think they will be in a hurry to get married - Lara likes to plan her life carefully, so she will probably get established in her career first.

Excellent! 95% Lara, and the rest - well what you can do with a little help from your gran!

Will she buy jewellery or sell that too for her house?

What's her next competition?

Many thanks to all of you who voted for my granddaughter's Love Story - she won with three times as many votes as the next finalist and now gets another N$1,000 worth of jewelley vouchers.
Good luck obviously comes in fours, as she has already won $600 of vouchers, a brand new Ford Fiesta in a different competition and her fiance has been promoted to manager of the largest gym in South Island.

She finishes her nursing degree in a few months , having started just before she was 18, and has been the most successful student they have ever had. She did so well in her first year that she was given a bursary towards her fees in her second year. Sam's promotion means she will be staying in Nelson for her first job, much to her parents' joy.

She is selling the car and using the money towards a deposit on their first house. They are both very hard-working, sensible and level-headed.
I am bursting with pride and can't wait to give her a virtual hug!
