Good Morning Sunday

The sun came out just as we arrived at Dunham Massey. After we'd had the customary substantial NT lunch, we strolled round the garden which in my opinion is as good as or even better than any other NT garden I have ever seen. There are still drifts of white narcissus; a profusion of hellebores; early rhododendrons and azaleas; and all the trees in the fresh green leaves of May. Not to mention the luxuriant magnolias. A perfect way to spend an afternoon.

We have had a really lovely day here in Northumberland - yes, we even sat out in the garden this afternoon! DD, SIL and DGS all came for lunch and then we went outside and sat in the sun (it was actually quite cold in the shade) - DD actually put suncream on DGS, much to his disgust.

Tomorrow it is back to work on the patio: raking out the soil and weeds and then re-sanding the gaps. I did so much yesterday that my calfs (DH and I have just had a discussion about how to spell that, should it be "calves"?) and feet are hurting today - but at least I feel useful.

Still dull and slightly chilly here near the airport, looks like it'll be the ironing then!
It's my fault it's dull as I changed all my clothes over, winter away summer out hmm
Now they all need a very quick iron wink

Weather lovely here. I should be preparing for my holiday as I am leaving on Tuesday but DS, DIL and GC are coming because they want to go to the beach. I knew I should have started a day or two earlier hmm

Good morning, a bit 'iffy' at the moment weather-wise. Hope it improves, we have our men versus ladies bowls this p.m. last year all our club competitions were played in cold wet conditions, so fingers crossed. Off to see our son now, just to make sure he knows he is taking us all out to lunch tomorrow for his sister's birthday.

Still rather dull in Cheshire but fingers crossed because I'm going with friends to Dunham Massey where we hope to have a good National Trust lunch. Today there's a photo on Facebook of GD (10) with the leader of the dance group Diversity (won BGT ahead of SueBo). They ran into them at Disneyland Paris and I confess to feeling a little envious.

Grey in Cheshire. Accuweather suggests the mist should burn off by about 2pm. Heres hoping!

LizG Sun 05-May-13 09:13:07

That's good Galen, am sending off my begging letter as soon as I can grin

Galen Sun 05-May-13 09:12:09

Oh, my laundry will be done. Must get up and put it out!
Well, perhaps another 10mins in bed, I'm comfy here!

Butty Sun 05-May-13 09:09:15

Bez Sun 05-May-13 09:01:21

Dry so far this morning in Cardiff - sun shone for most of yesterday so hoping it might be the same today. DH and Sil are off to a car boot in a minute - that will give us some peace!!

gillybob Sun 05-May-13 09:00:09

I did a lot of yanking out yesterday Bags there are times when you really shouldn't yank and doesn't my back know it this morning. smile

LizG Sun 05-May-13 09:00:07

Good morning all. We have sunshine in the South West. Let's hope it lasts.

Bags Sun 05-May-13 08:56:27

Clouds, white and grey scudding over from the west-north-west. MrBags has set off early to Ayr for an archery tournament. Minibags will presumably emerge by noon or thereabouts. I shall go out shortly and see how many baby ash trees have sprouted in the garden, and decide whether to yank them out.

gillybob Sun 05-May-13 08:46:14

Good morning all from a very sunny and warm North East coast. It's back to my daughters garden today unfortunately. I was in bed at 9.30 last night aching in places I didn't know could ache. Well at least it's a nice day for it. smile

Sook Sun 05-May-13 08:45:00

Good Morning Mick. It's exactly the same here in my part of Cheshire. Though it won't stop me from bargain hunting at the local carboot this morning,

12Michael Sun 05-May-13 08:42:14
