And I haven't started on
yet.

I have always liked this thread, so here I am resurrecting it!
Today I have mainly been eating, drinking and sleeping, then eating....
Such decadence! Lunchtime drinks at the Yacht club, watching the gaffer (DGD explained what it meant) racing and the sun glinting on the water, then home for a bite, then a snooze...what a life. How lovely today was.
And I haven't started on
yet.
That should have said bread bin of course !
Yes but I think I have things I need in some of the boxes! Have to wait till I discover them as boxes not labelled that well! Found the lid of the bread in this morning - been looking for it for weeks
Yeah, yeah, Bez! I work on the out of sight, out of mind / nobody can see them / what the hell principle too.
Granny23 that looks like enormous fun
Of course you will Bez
Lovely sunny day here but had to sort out more boxes and start cleaning our guest rooms - visitors coming next week. Actually have just moved the boxes to the garage so can get the house looking normal and will tackle them again in a couple of weeks - by which time I shall of course be revitalised and working at a faster rate!!
Granny23 I just loved that - looked great fun
Granny23 what a brilliant idea for a Hen Party activity - it really did look like great fun and actually sounded amazing considering the time spent rehearsing.
I am wasting spending the afternoon watching the tennis. Great to see Sabine Lisicki beating Serena. I liked the look of her two years ago and she seems to be coming to the fore again this year. Pity about Laura. They were very even but Kaneki just had the edge and did deserve to win.
Why not give up on Internet Explorer and download Google Chrome which is a more reliable search engine and there are others.
Faffing about with my new Windows 8 laptop trying to get internet explorer to work after I fiddled about with it. It had some malware that got on it with a program DH downloaded and I can't get any search engine to work properly any more.
The moral is don't fiddle with things you don't fully understand. Good job my old broken lidded one still functions.
Looked great fun!
If anyone is interested, the video of DD2's Hen Party playing the 'Lion Sleeps tonight' has been posted on YouTube - youtu.be/YQfCMqCrN3A
Bearing in mind that none of us had ever done it before and we had only two hours tuition, I reckon everyone but me (furthest from camera, miming to the music) did an amazing job.
Woke up to yet another scorching day (Cyprus). I never thought I'd say this, but I am almost looking forward to Scottish mists, drizzle and low temperatures. Hot can become quite tedious after a while

Today, in theory, the kitchen work-tops are being replaced, and a new hob and smaller sink fitted in the main kitchen. The present tops are mock black granite, which make the very nice kitchen rather dark, and they are a bit worn. The hob is s huge gas one, which I really don't like - have always had electric induction ones. So I am looking forward to a lighter look in the kitchen.
However, the fitter said last week that he might not start until tomorrow, so I haven't known how much to prepare. Ah well! Might not be able to cook tonight. Might have to go out for dinner.
Meeting up with a few other Gransnetters at the Chessington event today was the redeeming feature of a difficult two days. If ever I mention the possibility of visiting a theme park with under fives again please remind me that I MUST NOT DO IT!!! (Ditto staying in a Holiday Inn.)
Drove over to Buckfast Abbey conference centre, for a lovely Rotary event. I was so surprised at how the weather changed as we crossed by Dartmoor; we left Bideford at 11.00 under grey skies and a decidedly chilly breeze, to arrive in bright sunshine and a temperature of 23 (cannot find degree sign!)
Lovely, lovely day, beautiful food, and no mystery virus tomorrow, honestly...
Getting to grips with macro photography and preserving sour cherries in brandy. Ready to pickle my beetroot soon. A lovely, lovely day. Mr. B has decided to 'learn all about cooking' whilst I have a home-holiday, which basically means I've given up anything domestic, unless I feel like it. Yipee!
Trimming my pyracantha which DH has trained to an umbrella shape above our front door. He finds it impossible to tackle now but grrr after all my hard work he stood looking for faults and accepting all the compliments from passers by on how nice it looked.
It's been a very pleasant day weather wise, I've watched the
and unravelled a sock I was knitting (don't ask).
Now unwinding with a cup of Tick Tock bliss
We had amazing day BBQ with my ear son his partner and 2 stepsons was lovely love,y time sun shone shock horror!
Recovering from another attack of that strange mystery virus....a jazz party on the MS Oldernberg, in support of the RNLI. Brilliant evening!
Today my GD took me shopping for something to wear at her graduation. Traumatic. If the top of a dress fits me, it's too tight round the waist. The answer is, of course, separates. We found a pair of very nice trousers in Coast that I wouldn't have dreamt of buying at full price but they were in the sale and they fit me! Then to M&S to buy a plain cream shirt which she approved of. Trafford Centre is sooo hard on the feet! Now putting them up and enjoying the tennis.
Hello I am logging in from my super new laptop for the first time. My old one has a broken hinge and the screen is about to fall off. I have gone posh with Windows 8 . it will take some learning. At at least I can get GN. NIGHT NIGHT
Granny23 .... I read your post and felt a surge of empathy, and shared pain.
Some few years ago I was persuaded, by a supposed friend, that my various needs for an exercise class, a flatter tummy, and a time-out which was just plain fun, could all be met under one roof ...if I just joined her village belly dancing class.
Now perhaps I should have realised that the locale and demographics would mean the hall would be full of 'yummy mummies' with already flat tummies and hips which did things mine hadn't done for years.....all of them simply gleaming with judgemental glee at sight of a newcomer.
And I should also have realised that if one has never had any co-ordination, one is not going to suddenly discover it in a village hall, with tinny music and a set of strap-on bells that jingle out of sync whenever you move. Ditto with any sense of rhythm, which was never my forte and abandoned me altogether when asked to move my hips one way and my knees another!
I have never in my life felt more embarrassed for myself, or more like a giraffe on speed!
I would like to have said "never in my life, before or since" ..... however the shame of failing utterly as a dancer was trumped by attempting yoga and being asked by the teacher to sit at the front of the class because I was a danger to myself.
Some people are simply not physically suited to exercise
Today (although mainly I was working in the garden) I tried on my Mother of the Bride dress and jacket and found that it fits much better now. DH tried on his kilt + all the trimmings and had to tighten the straps 1 notch. We each agreed that the other looked gorgeous
4 weeks to go and we both have still 4lbs to lose to get down to target weights, which I'm sure we will manage. Speech still not written but other than that I think we are good to go.
