Today I have been mainly Vol. 6

I have always liked this thread, so here I am resurrecting it!

Today I have mainly been eating, drinking and sleeping, then eating....

Such decadence! Lunchtime drinks at the Yacht club, watching the gaffer (DGD explained what it meant) racing and the sun glinting on the water, then home for a bite, then a snooze...what a life. How lovely today was.

Gagagran Thu 20-Jun-13 21:02:08

Good news soop! I bet your two boys are pleased to have you home. Hope the undercarriage soon feels a bit more comfortable. Sending kind thoughts and wishes for a speedy recovery. flowers

whenim64 Thu 20-Jun-13 20:58:54

Welcome home soop. I hope you're feeling comfy and glad it's behind you grin. The op, I mean!

Nonu Thu 20-Jun-13 20:15:09

Bags, please send my very best wishes to soop for a speedy recovery.

Ta , ever so

annodomini Thu 20-Jun-13 20:11:20

Thanks for the news about soop, Bags. If you're peeking, soop, come back soon we miss you. ((((hugs))))

grannyactivist Thu 20-Jun-13 19:38:34

What SW meet up Grannylin? I turn my back for two minutes and plots and plans are made! grin
At this moment I am enjoying 5/6 days of teeming rain as I holiday in Cornwall with my extended family......and tomorrow will make 6/7 rainy days if the weather forecast is correct. Most bizarre weather as yesterday was absolutely scorching hot and all the other days have not only been wet, but also really cold. Very hit-and-miss TV and internet reception, so daughter is struggling to cope with the lack of technology. The Wonderful Man is out on a windsurfer and cares not a jot what the weather is doing. I'm just enjoying being with family and looking forward to my forthcoming Greek Island holiday. grin

Greatnan Thu 20-Jun-13 19:37:39

Thanks for letting us know about Soop, Bags - I hope she is soon well enough to start posting.

Bags Thu 20-Jun-13 19:30:16

Fingers crossed, butty!

soop has reported that she is "home and happy" smile. Let's hope her bum gives her no more trouble! [strong undercarriage vibes over to Kintyre]

Butty Thu 20-Jun-13 18:10:20

Following yesterday's outrageous thunderstorm which shorted all kinds of things, Mr. B went out today and bought 4 expensive power-surge-protector bars for all the important bits. Last year's storm even blew those. Fingers crossed these better ones will hold.

Gagagran Thu 20-Jun-13 16:48:54

Me too Tegan! What a joyous thing it is to see these beautiful animals in full flight. Just wish Frankie could get a winner! smile

Tegan Thu 20-Jun-13 16:03:12

Watching Royal Ascot. Lady Jane wins for Sir Henry and The Queen's horse wins the Gold Cup. Tears all round especially in the Tegan house...

Marelli, your lunch out sounds quite tasty, wish I could have joined you.
As for Mia being all fur coat and no knickers, I`m trying to turn her into a lady, not much success so far though!
It`s so warm in here, we`ve just put the ceiling fan on. I opened the bedroom window wide last night, it was so muggy, but himself shut it when he came to bed, he just doesn`t like fresh air.

Marelli Wed 19-Jun-13 19:01:04

number, a diamante collar will be completely wasted on Mia.....she's a bit like our Daisy, I think - fur coat and no knickers! grin
Went for lunch with pal Lurkio (yes, she's still here, but not posting)! We went to the lovely organic cafe (Gally knows it well) near Falkland and had very sensible soup and a big bit of seeded bread....followed by a BIG bit of Victoria sponge....grin and lots of tea!

Gally Wed 19-Jun-13 18:38:44

Definitely the diamonds Galen. Enjoy yourself! Good to hear Soop has had the op and is doing well. Love to her flowers
I took time off from trying to sort out my nicked on-line savings (when will it ever end? hmm) to drive to Doune to meet up with my oldest friend in the world, for a delicious lunch at the Deanston Distillery (well worth a visit for anyone on holiday in that area). We have known each other since we were 2 so go back a long way. It has been a glorious sunny, but not too hot day.

Butty Wed 19-Jun-13 17:43:01

Galen Lovely to hear of your enjoyment. smile

whenim64 Wed 19-Jun-13 17:38:39

Glad to hear soop is doing ok. It will be good to have her back.

Galen sounds like you're having fun! I wondered why you were so quiet! grin

numberplease Wed 19-Jun-13 17:34:50

So pleased to hear that Bags, send her my love, won`t you?
Just been on Amazon, ordering a lovely red diamante collar for Mia, because it`s getting increasingly difficult to distinguish between her and another white cat that keeps hanging around.

Bags Wed 19-Jun-13 17:08:41

Soop is on the road to recovery after her operation yesterday and sends her love to all her gransnet friends.

Greatnan Wed 19-Jun-13 17:05:50

Oh, there you are, Galen - I have been asking about you on FB. Are you getting some good photos (especially of the dishy Italian).

annodomini Wed 19-Jun-13 16:58:32

Galen - trust you to find a dishy Italian! envy

Galen Wed 19-Jun-13 16:53:21

now musr rush to get changed for formal dinner.
Decisions decisisions, pearls or diamonds?
its a hard life.

annodomini Wed 19-Jun-13 16:09:52

Oh, number, what a disappointment. Even in pouring rain, I can still enjoy Paris! I do hope you can make it sometime. We should have a Gransnet weekend there. But would they be ready for us?
Today I have been spending money. The fridge hasn't been performing well for ages so I took myself to John Lewis, having carefully researched models, prices and guarantees, and bought the one I had liked the look of on the web site. It won't arrive until next Wednesday though. Then I went to the Hotter on-line catalogue and found two pairs of shoes I liked in the 'last chance' section, for less than I'd normally pay for one. So - could I resist it? Not a chance! Then on to Ebay to buy a Minecraft (don't ask) wallet for GS's birthday. Now, somebody please hide my debit card. blush

Mamie Wed 19-Jun-13 16:03:45

Getting ready for a two day break in Brittany.
Everyone in the village is very amused because some workmen have been re-roofing a very tall, derelict house over the last few days. They have finished the job, packed up their truck and gone, leaving a bucket on top of the tallest chimney.

numberplease Wed 19-Jun-13 15:51:46

Tegan, enjoy Paris! I only ever had the one chance to go to Paris, not hubby`s cup of tea, but we once booked a 3 day break there, then at the last minute the travel agent went bust.

Ariadne Wed 19-Jun-13 12:51:13

Well, Grannylin, with any luck life will be quieter after the session. (But you never know!) we can get cracking after the summer, when everyone has stopped wandering around. Enjoy St Albans.

Grannylin Tue 18-Jun-13 21:50:31

Bon voyage Ariadne! I'm packing and off again childminding , this time to St Albans for DS1. We're never going to manage a SW meet up at this rate, what with phoenix working all the time, Galen in Iceland....and where's Ga disappeared to?! grin
