DD was born on the 30th May. On her 3rd birthday the announcer said that he birthday was expected to be colder than the previous Christmas day.

It was.

Our daughter was born on 6th May, and when she was younger and had birthday parties, we always managed to get them out in the garden - there were two reasons for this, one that the weather was usually good, and the other that if we had the party on a Saturday, the Saturday nearest her birthday always clashed with cup final day, and it was a forgone conclusion that that would be watched, by Dad, come what may! - Those were the days! As she grew older, and my husband used to get tickets to main games in London, she would accompany him there, as part of a birthday treat. I have only just discovered (50 years on!) that that reason she went along was for the fish and chips afterward.

I see we have reached that time of the year when we grumble more
than usual about the weather . I can remember two occasions
in the past - one in the late seventies - 1st week in june we had
snow at Primrose Valley ,Filey , and another occasion in 1952
at Scampton RAF Station - Lincolnshire I have a photograph taken
in May of that year I am in my welly boots in thick snow ! ! These
are just two occasions that come to mind !
