Thanks for that both of you, had to let of steam somewhere, a bit frustrated yesterday, but today is another day, and he is off to play a short game of bowls, so we shall see how he is when he returns (not crowded rooms after that).

I agree with JessM,anxiety can happen after medical procedures. We aren't as tough as we think we are. Of course you'll talk to the doctor and let him know.It might not just go away.

Glad the procedure went ok.
Could it be a stress reaction - an emotional after effect of the medical procedure?
You don't say how "recently" he was in hospital.

My husband recently had a 'procedure' involving cauterisation of a valve which was causing irregular heart problems with exercise and general activites, and this was successful, however, we are now finding that he has difficulty coping with crowded rooms and loud chatter, these seem to make him really poorly for a day or two, and I just wonder if this is something to do with blood pressure, and if anyone else has similar problems with noise. He is comfortable in closed spaces, so that is not a problem, and happy with a small group, but lots of people and chatter and he gets to feel quite ill. He is due for a check up quite soon, and we are really pleased with the result of the operation, but frustrated that this one thing seems to be persisting, particularly as we enjoy socialising. We agree that he needs to have a hearing test, and is arranging for this, but not sure loss of hearing would make him feel as he does (he looks really ill as well!) Certainly my hearing loss does not affect me (only the people talking to me).
