A few months ago lots of you gave me ideas for party games for an old-fashioned children's party and I just wanted to say that the party happened a week ago and was a huge success. The weather was beautiful which meant we could have the games and tea outside and they loved coming inside and choosing what to eat and then taking it back outside and sitting on blankets.
There were 18 guests (each twin had 9)ages ranging from 4 to 7 including 4 children( my grandson was one of them) with special needs. One is severely autistic and couldn't join in but he loves nature and happily wandered round the garden looking at the flowers and stroking the cat.
The games were a great success and it was virtually impossible to get the girls out in dead/sleeping lions and they all formed an orderly queue to pin the tail on the donkey. At tea time one said "aren't we going to play any more games ?" and another said "can we play musical statues again?"
They really enjoyed the games and one boy told his mother it was the best party he had ever been to. Great !
It did take 4 of us to organise it though . My DD and I did the food and my DH and SiL organised the games. We had a real sense of satisfaction at the end so thanks again to all those to helped us with ideas for games.
