...on being told that elderly lady next door had "gone to live with Jesus and God".

"Oh. That'll be nice for her".

I can't remember the author, but this is one of my favourite poems.

Mary Anne has gone to rest,
Safe at last in Abraham's breast.
Which may be nuts for Mary Anne,
But is certainly tough on Abraham. grin

jingle last year the man that lived next door to my FIL died, my GS6 at the time had passed the time of day with him over the fence for the year previous and he was quite upset when "Eddie" died I think it was the first time he had experienced death, he said its ok "Eddie" has gone to heaven and he will be having cake, hmm I dont know but I suppose if there is cake involved #silverlining wink

Many years ago a friend of mine had to break the news to her small daughter that one of her nans had gone to heaven. The surviving nan lived in Devon and the little girl said 'is heaven next to Devon'. Maybe it is .......

When our lovely cat Pepper died last September, my 4 and a half year old grandson said that he`d gone up to the sky to live with Grandad.

When a well-meaning adult asked my GD, then aged about 6 if a chicken which had died had gone to heaven, M said 'No, Daddy wrapped it in a plastic bag and put it in the bin.' She was and still is a convinced atheist. Attagirl!

As you can tell, my younger grandson is a very wholehearted believer. grin (bless him)
