We went to the new theatre in Stratford upon Avon a couple of years ago and had the pleasure and privilege of seeing Patrick Stewart in "The Merchant of Venice" - he played Shylock. He was excellent (and so was the play, which was a modern version set in Last Vegas). I, too, have always enjoyed him in Star Trek.

The man from Mirfield - that's how I think of him as he grew up in that same West Yorkshire mill town that I did. He went to the same secondary modern as one of my brothers, though my brother was 3 years apart from him.

Loved him as Jean-Luc Picard: well I love Star Trek anyway and he was a bonus.

I do like Patrick Stewart, he seems a really nice person, and he is also my Dad's doppelganger, they could be twins they are so alike. Sadly my Dad died 20yrs ago.

I don't know what's making my mouth water most - him or the cakes!
