I have taken the daring step of moving my summer clothes OUT of the wardrobe in the spare room and putting them in our wardrobe. I've even put my winter clothes in the spare room. shock

Well kitty I have half and half, I never got all my summer clothes out and I never put all the winter ones away. So that should balance things out and the sun will stay, smile

I want to help retain the sunshine but can only solemnly promise NEVER to display my body in a bathing costume before passing Customs. smile

It's St Swithin's day today! And if we can believe the old story, we're in for about six weeks of this weather. Drought... hosepipe bans... standpipes... grin

Makes a change from cocoa, woolly jumpers and galoshes! Isn't it lovely to be able to plan an outdoor activity with some confidence!

anno you're right, it is St Swithins day! Does it apply to sunny weather too, or was it just if it rained today we'd have 40 days of precipitation?

Galen Mon 15-Jul-13 17:24:43

The weather ap I have says same for next 15 dayssunshine

annodomini Mon 15-Jul-13 17:25:24

This is one version:

St. Swithin's day if thou dost rain
For forty days it will remain
St. Swithin's day (15 July) if thou be fair
For forty days 'twill rain nae mair.

Doesn't actually say it will be sunny.

I've even got out clothes from the underbed drawer which is labelled 'for mediteranean holidays' grin

I was in Sainsbury's earlier today and had a quick look at the clothes (although rather put off as my DGS informed me that TU stands for Tragic Underwear) to find that there were racks of woolly jumpers on display. Do they know something we don't or is it Bikini in February syndrome?
