Anno, hope your washing machine is in place and working merrily away!
Sook, I had the afternoon off, went tonight, but all the to-ing and fro-ing is very tiring. As for hubby, he`s been there for 9 days now, still waiting for his operation, which has now been scheduled for Monday morning. Thank you for asking.

annodomini Fri 19-Jul-13 16:50:51

I discovered that I should have stayed in bed this morning because the washing machine is scheduled to arrive between 2 and 9pm. The driver has now rung to say he is about half an hour away, so that's an improvement on the delivery time (8.45pm) of my fridge a few weeks ago. Just my luck to have to replace two appliances in such quick succession. Such a shame you have to pay a great deal extra to get a precise time.

number glad to hear that you are having a night off, hospital visiting can be really wearing. Hope all is going well for your DH?

Just one problem, the step up into the garage, thinking of having it knocked out, very difficult getting in and out.

They're magic aren't they? I've moved one of mine into the tribunal so I can go out at lunchtime. The big one lives in my boot which is equipped with an electric hoist.

Good afternoon from hot, sunny Boston. I`m having my first hospital visiting session off this afternoon, hubby has been in there for 9 days, and I`m shattered from all the rushing about. Plus my house is a mess and washing piling up, so have got a bit done today, before heading up there again tonight. At least I don`t have to be a pain to the family now, asking for lifts, I`ve got a mobility scooter, using it for the first time tonight, so watch out Boston!!

DS now gone off to Manchester to pick up GD and all her junk possessions. She is leaving Mancs now that she has graduated and is seeking her fortune grin in the south, living with the family pro tem. Luckily her dad has a people carrier. I just walked past the open back door and was caught in a blast of hot air, so today will be hotter than ever, I think.

BAnanas Fri 19-Jul-13 08:55:36

Down in Sussex, cooler on the coast than in London which is welcome at the moment. My feet get swollen in the hot weather, I Know we have waited a long time for a decent summer but over 30 degrees is a bit too much after a while.

Looks like another scorcher here on the Chichester Harbour coast but there is a good strong breeze which is making it very pleasant. It's the humidity I can't cope with. This is lovely and all my aches and pains have eased with the warmth.

DD and DGD are scheduled to do the Race for Life on Sunday but she is already warning that is will be more of an amble for life with the forecast mega-heat!

Sook Fri 19-Jul-13 08:22:42

Good morning everyone, anno and Nellie have beat me to it this morning grin.

I was walking the hounds at 5 am, until yesterday they had been coping with the heat fairly well, but unfortunately they are beginning to suffer. I have a stack of wet towels at the ready to cool them down if necessary.

Housework.......well all I am doing for today has been done grin.

Enjoy your day.

gillybob having lived between the rivers Dee and Mersey I really miss the seagulls cry but I do agree they are pesky,

janeainsworth Fri 19-Jul-13 08:19:30

I'm sure your Mum must be so glad you're there with her Gilly.
Thinking of you.

Ella46 Fri 19-Jul-13 08:18:41

Good morning, it's sunny here and heading for another scorcher!
I'm taking my friend out for lunch and we won't be eating outside!

I must admit I'm getting a bit stir crazy, as it's much too hot for me after about 1pm, so I've been indoors a lot in the afternoons.

But I'm not complaining wink

gillybob Fri 19-Jul-13 08:01:05

Good morning all. Beautiful sunny morning here on the North East Coast. How I envy all those who have birds visiting their gardens. We get one or two but living right on the coast the pesky seagulls (rats with wings) scare them off. Have a lovely day wherever you are, another hospital appointment with mum for me. sunshine

simtib Fri 19-Jul-13 07:54:47

Done my good dead for the day and managed to catch the blue tit in the dinning room and carefully let it go outside, so I can now be naughty for the rest of the day.

PRINTMISS Fri 19-Jul-13 07:51:32

Good morning, looks as if everyone is up and taking advantage of the cooler time of day. Stay cool, and enjoy your days.

Gorki Fri 19-Jul-13 07:48:15

Lovely here in Berkshire. I am having lunch with a friend in Pangbourne at a lovely restaurant overlooking the river. We go there occasionally but don't usually choose the right weather. Looks as if we may be lucky today.

Bez Fri 19-Jul-13 07:44:36

Good morning - nice here too - slightly cooler at the moment so will finish my chores in the visitor quarters before it gets hot. We had thunder yesterday and also a very heavy shower for about 20 mins - we get strange micro climates here and a friend up the road - less than a mile - had no rain! This is great weather for washing the duvets! grin

Gorki Fri 19-Jul-13 07:40:51

And then of course, you will have to try it out ! grin

annodomini Fri 19-Jul-13 07:35:52

Yes, it looks like being pretty hot today again. I am up early because the new washing machine could arrive any time this morning and I have to wait in.

Nelliemoser Fri 19-Jul-13 07:28:23

Lovely in Cheshire cool and clear. I was amused just after 7am to see a row of little birds queuing on top of the feeding station for for the seed hoppers. That big bird feeding station was one of the best Xmas gifts to self I have bought.
