Forcast was for heavy rain in the S.E. today. I'm currently sitting scorching on the patio with coffee and the papers smile

It bucketed it down with heavy thunder most of yesterday evening from 7
pm to 11ish where I am staying near Ashbourne here in Derbyshire.
Clouds seem to be clearing right now.

Bucketing down here in Durham. DH off on the Settle Carlisle railway. Hope they will be able to see something through the rain.

Heavy rain overnight. Street full of fallen leaves from the lime trees.

A nice light rain started last evening just after I'd watered the garden. All dry again this morning - but windy, very windy. There'll be plenty of fallen sticks at Gilwell to start their campfires.

Lots of rain over the Gilwell Park area. At least there won't be any fires in Epping Forest tonight.

We have had heavy rain since mid afternoon here in Dorset. It's now easing a bit.

annsixty Sat 27-Jul-13 20:49:01

It is Gillwell Park (we think)

merlotgran Sat 27-Jul-13 20:47:37

It's just started raining here. Better shut the hens up before the deluge.

j08 Sat 27-Jul-13 20:34:58

Our one is in the London area. Hertfordshire. It's a big nationwide camp. Not just their troop. Wonder if it's the same one?!

annsixty Sat 27-Jul-13 20:31:33

j08 my GD and GS have also left today for scout camp in the London area from Manchester so we hope for really good weather for them. They are too used to rain.

NfkDumpling Sat 27-Jul-13 20:13:12

Still as dry as a bone in north Norfolk - but we've had a chilly sea mist most of the day which is getting quite dense now. Like being in a swirling cloud.

Ella46 Sat 27-Jul-13 20:06:44

Just tiny tiny spits of rain here at the mo.....

Tegan Sat 27-Jul-13 19:57:29

East Midlands; rain has just arrived!

j08 Sat 27-Jul-13 19:49:28

Oh, and GS1 has gone off on his Scout camp. I bet they had a big campfire planned. sad

j08 Sat 27-Jul-13 19:48:28

Hevens opened when I was in town, with still a longish walk to the car park! hmm DD's fault for dragging me round too many shops.

Galen Sat 27-Jul-13 18:46:16

Still raining and COLD,

ninathenana Sat 27-Jul-13 18:35:33

2 claps of thunder, and 2 mins of rain at 4pm then the sun came out again.

Oldgreymare Sat 27-Jul-13 18:34:37

Can't get over how dark it is after such lovely bright skies.... Hope I've stocked up on enough sunshine to avoid SAD!
Raining cats and dogs, at least the garden and allottment need it even if I don't sad

gracesmum Sat 27-Jul-13 18:17:50

Oh, that rain!(and thunder!!)

merlotgran Sat 27-Jul-13 17:38:10

It's been hot and sunny on the Fens today. We have thunderstorms forecasted for tonight so I've been doing my final planting of a new border hoping it will be well and truly watered in.

If it's a noisy storm the dogs will be in bed with us.....They hate it.

FlicketyB Sat 27-Jul-13 17:25:18

In Normandy the day started bright and sunny. As soon as I put weedkiller on the lawn up blew a storm and we have since had another storm and, in total, nearly 3 hours of heavy rain. We had also planned a leisurely barbercue for this evening!

Ariadne Sat 27-Jul-13 17:14:35

A tiny smattering a few minutes ago. Woke me up!!

vegasmags Sat 27-Jul-13 17:11:45

Still sunny, hot and 26 here in Manchester. I'm hoping I won't have to water the garden again tonight!

Charleygirl Sat 27-Jul-13 16:33:58

I am certain that within the next hour the rain will hit London as it is getting dark but is still humid.
