Thank you for starting this thread seasider. I have been in forced exile for more years than I care to remember but I remain at heart a proud West Riding-er for ever smile

I was born a Lancastrian but at heart I am a Yorkist.

Stansgran it's so refreshing to hear of one red rose who has seen the light [ducks for cover] emoticon grin

Just heard David LLoyd on the Ashes commentary "Today is Yorkshire day. It's the day when Yorkshire folk buy not." smile

Didn't know it was Yorkshire Day until I received a text from my London born friend! Like many I have been exiled elsewhere downt' roaad from my birth town, but my heart will always be in Yorkshire. I get withdrawal symptoms if I can't return at least once a year. These are bad right now as I haven't been back for a few years. Need to organise myself to get there soon. 'The Dales' programme has been wonderful, but only one left now, unfortunately. Happy Day to all of you still lucky enough to live there in what is definitely God's Own County!
