I just finished off the last one, so here we go again!

Galen Fri 29-Nov-13 10:26:57

I'll raise a glass to you in Edinburgh!wine

Oldgreymare Fri 29-Nov-13 10:22:13

Tegan enjoy your visit 'oop North' lucky you! Only the fact that I am off to Newbury stops me from being too envious of the Grans off to Edinburgh.
I shall blow Liam a kiss from you! Good luck at Kelso.
(Knight's Reward, will be entered in a Bumper later in the season, heard it from the owner's mouth!!!!)

Oldgreymare Fri 29-Nov-13 10:16:17

Mamie you probably know this already, TGV arrives in one station, further out and bleak! The 'other' station is much more central. I think that is where the tourist info office is.
We did a lot of walking around, easily done, and did find a magnificent 'tea shop' which is an indulgence but a must visit.
We were only there for a day each time as we were travelling on to Florence, but wished we could have been there longer.
There is a huge university so lots of students milling around at certain times of day. Turin is FIAT cars, of course.

Tegan Fri 29-Nov-13 10:13:46

OGM; please shout for our lad Liam if he wins the Hennessy on Houblon des Oboux [sp]. And watch out for Fergals horse, Down Ace [think she's running Saturday not Friday. I'd love to go to Newbury again; we're off to the Borders National at Kelso and I'm meeting up with some racing forum chums there. But I've got no internet up there so won't know what's happening [may have to buy The Racing Post confused; ee lad, justliketheolddays]. Happy belated birthday, Mamie!

Oldgreymare Fri 29-Nov-13 10:02:24

Tegan sorry

Oldgreymare Fri 29-Nov-13 10:01:35

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeelp! I simply cannot PM anyone, every time I click on PM the screen jumps back to the first page of that particular thread!
Tips for Tegan and Mamie remain unsent!
Don't worry Teagan the horse didn't run!!!!! (We are off to Newbury tomorrow smile)

Tegan Thu 28-Nov-13 19:19:54

Is it just me that's having trouble posting confused??

Mamie Thu 28-Nov-13 18:43:27

Ooh OGM would love some tips on what to go and see. We saw the Michael Portillo programme, loved the look of it and found out that we can get there in a day by train from Normandy (242€ return for the two of us).
OH is complaining that he won't be able to bring much wine back though.

Oldgreymare Thu 28-Nov-13 18:20:28

Today our writing group rehearsed the Christmas writings we are going to present to two local care homes. I then did a tour of M&S to see if anything inspired me to buy Christmas presents. No! But I did buy myself a furry hat with ear flaps which, when I got it home, I realised looks rather like a judge's wig. Oh WTH, it's cosy round the old lugs.

Shopping today with my DD and DGD and then we all met up for lunch with DH - what could be nicer smile

LizG Sun 17-Nov-13 14:10:28

Today we are preparing for a visit from friends we haven't seen for over 30 years although we have kept in touch by Christmas Cards and my DD1 still keeps in touch with their DD1. Just one hour to go before they are due to arrive and I am nervous.
