Anglesey loses William but gains...

Me. At least for a year. Finally, finally baling out today to go and join DH (and the much slimmed down belongings) on Anglesey.
House sitting for the last week, charged with taking care of hanging baskets, sweet peas and the orchid. Sweet peas are well past best and covered with greenfly. Noticed that last night I had written a note that said the sweet peas are being attacked by orchids... grin Guess I am still a bit tired.
Have to say though that the people of Anglesey (who have their own local authority despite the tiny population) have gained a load of cool points for the way they have behaved in the last 3 years, letting Will and Kate have an unhassled start to their married life.

I hope you find the people of Anglesey welcoming, Jess- it is certainly a lovely island.

I hope the people of Anglesey make you just as welcome, Jess!

The Anglesey people are great. Last summer DD2 saw Kate reading in the sand dunes, no sign of a boby guard. Stayed there years ago with friends who lived in Llanfairpwll....... , I can still recite the full name! I hope the move goes smoothly.

Gosh some people will object to anything won't they. This scheme will bring lots of jobs to one of the most under-employed parts of the UK - but might it dilute the Welsh language? I am so pleased this has now been passed as it will provide much needed jobs and also bring more tourism money into the island to the benefit of small businesses.

Let's hope the people opposing the resort don't resort to burning the properties down, like they did people's holiday cottages in the 70's.
