Slightly damp air today but hopefully dry for Eastbourne Airbourne. Six grandchildren coming today, five are human one a large dog. Fish pie for most something else for all the fussy eaters plus hot fudge cake and cream. Hell to the diet.

Good morning all. Very wet and miserable here on the North East coast. The sky and the sea are joined together in grey and it never rains but it pours. Have grandchildren staying overnight as my son had to have his beloved dog put to sleep last night . Didn't want the children around during so much upset. Hadn't planned on having them today as I have hospital visits and work but never mind. Have a good day everyone. smile

gillybob - stop it!! You need to take care of yourself. flowers

Dull and overcast today here. Had lovely day yesterday with friends - today - Sainsbury's!! Hopefully, I'll see someone for a chat while I'm there. One of the benefits of being older is that you are more likely to bump into someone you know.

It has rained in NW London overnight, it is dull but warm and I think that the sun will peep through soon.
Pleased that it rained as I forgot to water the tubs last night.

Good morning from a bright and sunny SW France - due to be a out30deg today. It is a Bank holiday here today - Assumption of the Virgin Mary I believe. There is a big Airshow a few miles away - DH is going with a couple of mates - go most years together. Our drive DS who arrived safely are going too. So a nice quiet day for me to cook and prepare for some other friends who are coming for a meal this evening - will I or won't I make profiteroles? Have a good day.
Hope you got on OK yesteday Mick.

Lovely blue sky here in Manchester, but not for long, I think. My DD is on business in this part of the world today, so will be staying overnight. It will feel such a treat to be just the two of us.

I think today in North Devon will be a mixture of sun and showers.

I'm in Newport. It's wetland miserable!

PRINTMISS Thu 15-Aug-13 09:34:11

A bit undecided here, I was hoping we might have a shower as I forgot to water the pots and garden yesterday evening. Will now have to get out in the garden and get that sorted. Hope your bp. has stabilised Mick. Enjoy your days everyone.

Afternoon all, I'm a bit late today as my dgd has a dreadful cough and was sick on the way to nursery. So Nana to the rescue sunshine

It's been gloriously sunny here so at least the doors and windows are open. She is sleeping like an angel at the moment, worn out by trotting round in loads of long chunky necklaces for most of the morning! grin

Hope you're ok Mick and you too gilly

Ella my baby DGS was poorly and sick with a bad cough last week. A friend had a child who was sounding "horse" according to the note from nursery.
I am wondering if its a particular bug going around.

harrigran Thu 15-Aug-13 15:31:19

Lovely day here, sun shining and all the washing dried outside. DIL rang to say GD has tummy bug and to warn me as I have been looking after her for two days this week. Good one H, waited until she got home to vomit smile

Brendawymms Thu 15-Aug-13 19:14:17

All these coughs. You do know I hope that whopping cough is making the rounds. I have heard of several people, even those injected, have it.

LizG Thu 15-Aug-13 19:21:32

My grandson picked up whooping cough when he had to return to hospital with jaundice at two weeks old. He was taken to the Bristol Children's hospital (Wallace and Gromit Appeal supports this) and put on a ventilator. He is now 18 months and amazing. I know this is the wrong thread for this but today hasn't been the best of days and I am so grateful to be reminded of something good that happened.

Nelliemoser Thu 15-Aug-13 19:40:36

Brendaw Yes! that was exactly my thought with DGS. He sounded hoarse and was coughing a bit when I saw him a couple of days before. DD did take him to a walk in centre at 1am as his chest had become very noisy and breathing too fast. He also had a high temperature. DD spent most of that night sitting in a chair with him propped upright on her chest. The Dr gave him cover antibiotics and he did pick up after a couple of days. You can't afford to hang about with young children with bad chests.

He is only 10 mnths and has been immunised. Both mine were immunised but had mild versions with the ringing cough, they were to 2 and 3ish then though and better able to manage it.
