Good morning to you, sorry about your worry Mick, let's hope things settle down soon for you. We have a sunny morning here, and off to the Museum this morning to sort out a broken down machine - a bit like the operator I think! We are going to try a new restaurant for lunch, looking for somewhere to meet up with friends later in the month. Possible visit from daughter and son-in-law this p.m. Hope they come, enjoy their visits. Enjoy your days everyone.

Himalayan Pink Rock Salt?

Sunny start here too - am about to start on an enormous pile of ironing while DH sleeps on. We went to a 70th birthday party last night, 80+ guests, fish and chip supper and an ageing band whose music deteriorated as the evening wore on. Wonderful. Would have been better though if I hadn't drawn the Designated Driver straw. But at least I get to feel smug this morning!

Sodium chloride by any other name would taste as salty (and contribute to high BP) mick . Why oh why?

Sorry Mick I don't want to nag as I too have had problems with my BP hopefully now under control with medication, a healthy diet and exercise. If you have to have salt, you can buy a salt substitute from supermarkets BUT please check with your GP before you do, as it is higher in potassium which can cause problems if you have an underlying heart problem.

I have been surfing the Harvard Med and Mayo Clinic web sites for some years for health information. There is also a brilliant source of information I obtain from another world renowned Clinic in Stuttgart. I have been using Himalayan Pink Rock Salt for some time in cooking and baking. It is purportedly pure and unrefined with 84 minerals and trace elements (unlike refined salt which has nothing) as well has having many other health benefits. Unfortunately, my GPs only follow the protocols produced by NICE anyway. The information super highway can help with our own informed decisions. I saw an article in a national paper a few months ago that, like me, people are taking internet health information to their GPs and asking for a better understanding and clarification of treatments. In fact, just going to start a new forum for consideration.

Bright and sunny in the north east but must have been cool last night because the heating came on this morning.
Off to see GC and collect eldest to stay with us, two days this week and one next then back to school
