Hey, there are two good ideas - thanks shysal.

I unwind the tape and use it in my garden to scare the birds off the fruit and veg, as it rustles. It is also useful for tying plants to stakes or wires as it is broad and won't damage stems.

I don't want to keep any of the stuff on them.
I gather now that some places will take them as 'mixed plastic'.

I also found:

and somewhere, someone is knitting the tape into handbags!

Going to try our local LETS group for a mixed lot for sale including tapes, TV to play them on and a PlayStation 1 + games that I still have.........!

Now what do I do with the other thing the charity shop wouldn't take, which is an electronic piano with no sound....it worked until recently....
..........?

Apparently there is a method of converting them to DVDs but I do not know what has to be bought to do that. Have you tried googling it?

I have occaisionally seen bins for them on recycling sites but heaven knows what they do with them.

What do you do with them?
Charity shop wouldn't take them, say they can't even get 5p each.....
