A very dull and overcast day here in Brackley today.

Good morning Mick and good morning everyone.
Lots of rain here overnight but difficult to tell how it's going to turn out today - it's nice and fresh anyway, which is good for me as I have a lot of running around to do.

A Get-the-ladder-out-and-attack-the-top-of-the-rhodie-hedge-day here.

Dull and showery here. Hope you do better with your hedge bags than I did with my hawthorn, which fought back valiantly and I have the puncture wounds to prove it. Now to get out the hosepipe and clean out the truly disgusting 4 wheelie bins that our city council provides for each resident. [yuk emoticon]

Morning, it's misty and wet and it rained a lot in the early hours.
I know because I've been awake for most of it!

Got a bit of a headache, and as it's the first exercise class this morning after a three week break, I'm not looking forward to it with any enthusiasm.

Then I'll be off to check on Houdini hen (hopefully) in a soggy hen run.
Yuk!

Roll on bed time grin

Rained all night and still raining. Glad about that as I forgot to water the flower tubs and hanging basket.

Good morning everyone smile I'm sitting here debating whether to go and visit Quarry Bank Mill (the village this time) or to get cracking and start digging the garden in preparation for extending the lawn. OH had top soil free of charge, delivered a few weeks ago, guess who got to shovel it off the drive? grin I thoughtfully moved it next to one of the brick collections I'm told that they are blue engineering bricks (do I look like I care?) Hmm scratches chin wondering how much they would fetch on the open market?

Have a lovely day one and all from damp and dreary Cheshire.

Oops punctuation!

Good morning - bit duller here this morning - yesterday proved to be a cloudy but hot day and probably the same today. Nothing planned as yet so will just take the day as it comes and do as we fancy.

Good morning everyone, piddling down here with thunder and lightning earlier on. Good for the garden, it needed a good soak. It is full moon time, and so I slept really badly, not a good sign for the rest of the day, as I need my sleep. Enjoy your days everyone.

Good morning from the North East coast. Heavily rain, thunder and lightening last night and a very warm day again today although misty and damp outside at the minute and the fog horn is sounding.

I always get the job of shovelling too Sook. When we had our topsoil delivered the lorry couldn't get anywhere near the back of the house and it was a heck of a job barrowing it all round from the front. So glad you are still with us. smile

Good morning Michael & all, heading to Glasgow where I do hope it will be a fine dry day. Optimistic or what?

kittylester Sat 24-Aug-13 12:39:12

Morning all - flipping miserable in north Leicestershire and looks ready to pour.

Had a good day so far as we went to buy DH a new jacket and came back with a new handbag, two pairs of trousers and a new cardigan (all for me grin) but nothing for DH.

Ella46 Sat 24-Aug-13 15:12:24

Well done kitty grin that's the right sort of shopping!

Nonu, Houdini hen was still at home in the run today, I think the bloody great rocks I put round the bottom of the netting are just too much for her!
However, she does have a habit of perching on the apex of the henhouse and peering longingly at the rest of the garden, so it will have to be an airborne escape next!

I think engineering bricks must be quite expensive as my father always saved them if he found any!
Do you collect bricks as a hobby?

Nonu Sat 24-Aug-13 16:05:17

ELLA , LAL , Houdini sounds like a bit of a character .

kittylester Sat 24-Aug-13 16:18:55

I'd hide if I was you Galen quick! grin

Sook Sat 24-Aug-13 17:20:27

No Galen I don't but my OH has a bit of an obsession with them grin
