Cute photo. My daughter has two ducks named Dilly and Delilah - keeps 'em for the eggs (yet to start laying though), but I'll be happy to see them off when the time comes - like Bags duck is a favourite of mine. (wolfish )

I could never eat veal for the reason that males calves are taken from their mothers at birth and transported often without even water. It beggars belief.

One day old veal calves at Dover docks, ready to be shipped to France, made my mind up about eating meat, French or from anywhere else. Veggie for well over 30 years now.

Don't eat French meat!

Nellie I went veggie for 15 years after seeing piglets crammed into a lorry, again in France. Some had their little heads poking out through the vents and that made it worse seeing their little faces. Sorry to be sentimental but it left a lasting impression on me

It was seeing some ducks crammed into cages on a lorry being transported away from an intensive farm somewhere in the Dordogne that finally made me go vegetarian.

D'you think they're paddling away madly and wondering whey they're getting nowhere?

Actually, since someone mentioned it, duck is my favourite meat. They have to have had a decent life though and have been killed humanely.

Do you take milk and sugar with that? Nah, just a couple of ducklings will do.

Are you a closet carnivore? I'm also a veggie but have been having some very disturbing dreams recently where I am eating almost raw meat. I wake up with the disgusting taste in my mouth. Not sure what all that's about

Yes they are sweet. In NZ they have a saying that likens being really chuffed to "a box of fluffy ducks"
