A lovely day today!
When checking my bank account, I found my Cardiff pension had been payed in.
I had a cup of coffee at the tribunal. The Judge made it for me! I really enjoyed it as I was thirsty.

And if they were the same, where was the harm in it?

But we are not supposed to talk about that anymore.

Like I say, they should delete the thread.

j08 Fri 30-Aug-13 20:16:08

Greatnan - not this kind.

Thread should be deleted.

Ceesnan Fri 30-Aug-13 20:12:38

Hang on a minute.. Who has said that Frank and Bentley are one and the same?

Riverwalk Fri 30-Aug-13 20:04:53

The young women who run Gransnet seem to be a reasonable bunch - indeed there are a number of members who regularly engage in banter with them regarding cakes and other indulgences.

Given that they are such a nice bunch does anyone really think that they would ban any member without just cause?

From what I can see, so few members are banned, so can it not be accepted that there must have been a good reason?

HunterF/Bentley must be laughing his socks off at all the sorrow.

Greatnan Fri 30-Aug-13 19:52:34

I have followed her posts. The thread was started as a bit of fun. Remember that, jingle? You used to be quite ready for a bit of banter.

j08 Fri 30-Aug-13 19:45:56

Nelliemoser I referred to him as "everyone's favourite daft old fart".

Can you really not see that that was kindly, even fondly, meant?

And it was when I was enquiring about his absence.

I don't know why this thread was ever started.

As for knowing the OP has not a single whatever bone in her body - no? How do you know?

Nonu Fri 30-Aug-13 19:35:46

ELOE, how could that be ?

Eloethan Fri 30-Aug-13 19:31:02

Well, I thought it was funny.

Frank very rarely responded other than to direct questions relating to his own posts - I don't think he followed the general cut and thrust of various threads. I often wondered if he really existed!

bluebell Fri 30-Aug-13 18:36:00

Oohhhh Moved - insinuation? Could you give us an example of what you mean? Oh wait a minute......

Nonu Fri 30-Aug-13 18:10:40

Well said , MOVE.

sunshine

Movedalot Fri 30-Aug-13 18:07:16

There have been many elements which have poisoned Gransnet and insinuation is certainly one. I also think that comment like Bluebell's above are very unhelpful. I don't think Sel (or for that matter any of us) has said anything to imply perfection. Please give it a rest.

bluebell Fri 30-Aug-13 17:05:31

This is reminding me of the Noddy and Bigears joke

bluebell Fri 30-Aug-13 17:02:32

Well exactly Nonu - just what I said! I'm so glad you agree with me - its lovely to be in such accord isn't it? And the sun is shining here too. Doubly blessed

Nonu Fri 30-Aug-13 16:53:54

Well it is nice to be blessed IMO !!

bluebell Fri 30-Aug-13 16:51:45

When did I say she wasn't entitled? I was just marvelling at what a paragon of virtue she is and a role model to us all. How blessed we are to have someone setting such high standards that so many of us can never hope to emulate

Nonu Fri 30-Aug-13 16:47:35

BB , I think Sel is entitled to put her fourpenneth in if she she so desires .

sunshine lots of it here

moomin Fri 30-Aug-13 16:34:06

Hear hear Greatnan

Greatnan Fri 30-Aug-13 16:29:38

Oh, for goodness sake - everybody knows that Galen has not got a vindictive bone in her body. No more talk about people giggling in corners please. It is that kind of insinuation that has poisoned the atmosphere of Granset.

bluebell Fri 30-Aug-13 15:32:14

Goodness me Sel - what's it like being so absolutely perfect?

Ana Fri 30-Aug-13 14:40:50

Thank you Sel - I hope I'm right, too...

Sel Fri 30-Aug-13 14:19:16

Ana I do hope you're right. I know you were always kind and polite to Frank and maybe 'know' him better than I do.

Ana Fri 30-Aug-13 14:12:28

I resent that implication, Sel. I joined in with the spoof as did not feel that it was 'mocking' Frank in any way. Those of us who enjoyed his threads and actually engaged with him on the forum were aware that he didn't always take himself too seriously, and I very much doubt that he would be offended or hurt by the content of this thread.

Sel Fri 30-Aug-13 14:06:56

Personally I hope the person concerned is amused by such displays of wit and humour and delighted to be mocked by the good ladies of Gransnet. Not something I would ever be a part of, in real life or on here. I was truly shocked to see it but then again, I was never part of the Bums and Tums discussions. They I thought were light hearted, this I didn't, I thought it was cruel.

Attacking j08 as a way of justifying it is childish in the extreme. A true playground with a huddle in the corner giggling at their cleverness in hurting someone.

Elegran Fri 30-Aug-13 14:06:38

If someone's membership has been ended, trying to send them a pm triggers a notice to say that they are not a member, and it does not get sent. They cannot post, obviously, if they are not a member.

So if a pm goes through, their membership still stands. No idea about temporary suspensions.

If member X has not been banned and/or removed, it does make it a bit of a farce to be fighting over it in the forum.

Greatnan Fri 30-Aug-13 13:57:17

I would be deeply honoured and flattered if anybody bothered to copy my style or content! grin
