hebrideanlady, that tickled me enormously when I first read it, but I was worried it would be too small when I put it in my profile page. Thinking back to the 60s, things were a bit like that, but I don`t know many who conformed.

numberplease i have just read the extract of sex advice which is amongst your lovely photos, the bit about "we should humbly agree" with husbands desires, its hilarious!!! that must be why I have been married 3 times, I cant say I do humble.

I had a beautiful little tortie rescue cat she was gorgeous, sadly she was run over right outside my house so I vowed never again, then 1 of my daughter started to breed ragdolls (indoor) ones so I got 2 kittens. A friend of mine had a white kitten which went outside, an eagle took it, How awful is that

kittylester Sat 14-Sept-13 17:41:35

I thought all cats did. confused

Gorki Sat 14-Sept-13 17:18:23

And so does our black one ! grin

numberplease Sat 14-Sept-13 16:02:10

You too? Our white rescue cat thinks we`re just here to be her slaves!

Hebs Sat 14-Sept-13 10:39:40

Thanks numberplease, i shall try and sort the photos. Willow and Blossom are Ragdolls, brother and sister, we are only here to serve them

numberplease Fri 13-Sept-13 21:30:03

Hebrideanlady, just been looking at your photos, those are two beautiful cats! Wish they were larger pics, the scenery looks lovely.

glassortwo Fri 13-Sept-13 17:46:31

hebridean more inland than Alnwick close to The Scottish/England border. It's a beautiful part of the country.

Hebs Fri 13-Sept-13 17:36:36

Thanks for the tip glassortwo, I see from your profile you are renovating a house in Northumberland, is it anywhere near Alnwick? we were there 2 years ago for a holiday, its one of my favourite places.

kittylester Fri 13-Sept-13 12:07:33

Or become the local editor hebrideanlady sunshine

glassortwo Fri 13-Sept-13 11:43:06

Some of the local sites are not up and running fully yet, post a message and see if anyone replies. I think GNHQ are still looking for local editors.
But have a look at the Edinburgh local as I think it's one of the most successful of the sites and they have some great meetings.

Hebs Fri 13-Sept-13 11:31:28

Advice please, I looked at the LOCAL for Highlands & Islands and there's nothing there. Its a very big area, there's no Pubs, Hotels, Hospitals, Doctors or Shops, either i am not pressing the right buttons, we don't exist or somebody should put some stuff in. Which is it .confused

I have been looking through lots of posts, one i noticed was, supermarkets full of Christmas goodies, that i do miss!! Large supermarkets, if I go to the mainland its like a trolly dash. Like kids in a sweet shop.

bikergran Wed 11-Sept-13 13:34:56

lol @ kittylester

BerylBee Wed 11-Sept-13 13:18:11

Hello from me, too.
I'm a recent joiner like you.
Not yet a Gran but expecting!
I'm also a Scot. But unfortunately living in exile.
Boo, hoo.

Gorki Wed 11-Sept-13 13:15:12

I think we should have a meetup there don't you Grannyknot? !!! grin. Only half joking !!

Grannyknot Wed 11-Sept-13 12:50:24

Welcome and I just had one of the best holidays ever on the Western Isles. In that glorious July weather. We did them all ... from top to bottom! So I am jelly-envious of you, only a little bit.

Gorki Wed 11-Sept-13 11:19:08

I have sent you a PM about Margaret. Usually you will receive notification of this through your emails but not always so just press your inbox at the top of this page and the message will appear.

Welcome hebrideanlady. I've only been to Scotland twice and then barely into the highlands even. I can remember reading once that Scotland is beautiful whatever the weather and in every season of the year.

Hebs Wed 11-Sept-13 11:00:13

The best description of where i live, is Dartmoor by the sea, The main road round the Island is 34ml, then there is 800 named Lochs, so quite a lot of water

Ana Wed 11-Sept-13 10:51:37

And welcome, hebrideanlady! smile

Ana Wed 11-Sept-13 10:50:41

kitty! grin Good job the nights are closing in...wink

henetha Wed 11-Sept-13 10:49:06

Hello and welcome, new lady from the Hebrides. I know Scotland quite well, but not the Hebrides, but I bet the way of life there is a huge contrast to Torquay. I lived in Torquay for 50 years, but am now on the edge of Dartmoor which is so peaceful, just like your island is, I expect.
I hope you will enjoy being a gransnetter.
