Is anyone tempted? They look a good investment.

The banks and hedge funds are expected to make a killing - seems most of the shares are reserved for them.

Main problem is that no-one can really predict the outcome. It's no use ministers making soothing noises about the daily mail delivery to everywhere in the UK continuing because they cannot possibly guarantee it! We've seen what has happened with other privatised services.

Reasons why it should not be privatised.

They say that the commitment to deliver to all parts of the UK, including remote areas, remains. I wonder, though, if there is a commitment that the postage charge will be the same for a delivery to a remote, underpopulated area as it will be to a more accessible, heavily populated area.

It will be bought out by foreign interests......and will be a disaster.

I can't be the only one to notice the drop in quantities of Christmas cards last year. This will just about kill them off.

I am concerned about this Royal Mail sell off happening because of where I live, One of the downsides of living in The Hebrides is very unreasonable delivery charges, having to explain to many companies this is part of the UK

I wonder if they'll be allowed to keep 'Royal' in their name hmm
