As circumcision has cropped up on more than one thread recently, I wonder if Prince George will be snipped/mutilated (delete according to taste) in the same way as most of his family. I have a feeling that the late Princess of Wales put her foot down about her boys being circumcised so the break with tradition has already been made. I think the mohel who did the Prince of Wales is still around and snipping/mutiliating.

Just a question and an innocent one, how do we know about the 'snipping' of the Royal Foreskin? My DDH has his done when he was 4 and it was to 'stop bedwetting' - that was almost 70 years ago!. (whispers) I do prefer a 'snipped' one, not that I have had that much experience. wink

Another anecdote, My eldest DS had to be circumcised when he was 20 due to it being 'tight' and uncomfortable. I lost my net food cover at the same time he came home from hospital. He was using it as a protective 'cover' between his sheets and his operation site. Very inventive, I never used the cover again needless to say. He also was very very sensitive in that area and spent a few days in his bedroom with just a t-shirt on. He ventured down one afternoon to pick up some magazines. He was holding his t-shirt over the offending area to hide his modesty. He dropped a magazine and bent down to retrieve it. It was a sight I really did not want to see. He was completely oblivious to the fact that everything else was on show!

It was a good job you didn't have your camera to hand, Flower, or he would have never forgiven you!
It used to be common for upper-class boys to be circumcised, without reference to religion, but I think (hope) the practice is dwindling.
