Still blushing

A car pulled up alongside me this morning on my way to work and thinking I recognised the bald head and glasses of a colleague, I pulled the door open and leaned in. Then realised the driver was a horrified stranger and his mate was standing behind me. I wouldn't mind so much, but this was a notorious pick-up road. How scared must the driver have been to have a nana throwing herself at him? Anyone else blushing today?

Specsavers indeed, j08. I've got to admit, this isn't the first time I've done this. I once actually jumped into a car that had stopped at temporary traffic lights thinking it was my lift. The horror on that young man's face... grin

grin I've done it too. Dh said he would wait outside a shop while I popped in quickly. Came out and jumped into the car only to find a complete stranger in there. Luckily he saw the funny side of it as did DH who was sitting in the car in front. My excuse was that both cars were the same colour !

I once drove into Chatham to pick Theseus up from a C****** work party in London, and the arrangement was that I'd pick him up outside the main post office.

When I got there, he fell into the car giggling, smelling of alcohol, and told me that a white car had pulled up, and he had clambered in (still giggling, I presume). Then he realised that it was a male driver, and it wasn't his car..Fortunately, the driver saw the funny side.

So much for my dear pillar of the community!

DH and I went to a posh dinner shortly after moving to a new area. It being the 70s DH, very daringly, wore a velvet evening jacket which looked fabulous with his longish, dark, wavy hair. I came out of the loo to see him leaning on the bar ordering drinks so went up and pinched his bottom. A total stranger turned round and gave me a very strange look blush

I did spend a long time one morning trying to get my car door open. Then I realised that it was an identical but totally strange Cavalier parked next to mine. Don't think anyone was watching behind the net curtains (I hope!)

I went to see my daughter and parked in the street outside her house. When I came out there was a note on the windscreen...'You forgot to put your handbrake on. I put a wedge under the front wheel because your car was rolling into mine'. so glad he did shock

I went to our local Dunelm Mill and parked in the car park only to come out from the shop to find my car sitting in the middle of the Carparks drive ways I had forgotten to use the handbrake. Fortunately no one was concerned and seemed to be sympathetically amused at my embarrassment.
