Charleygirl I wasn't implying that Rumanians or Bulgarians work illegally, they are after all part of the EU so by definition cannot be. I stated Albanians, as they are not - yet. I was actually giving credit to the many Rumanian and Bulgarian ex pats who migrate in order to find work and give their families a better life by supporting themselves and sending money back home. It is worth noting that many travel South to the meditteranean countries and are an important and major part of the hospitality industries. It is those employing Albanians without exceptional leave to remain in UK, or France, Germany and Spain for that matter who need the attentions of the UK Home office or respective countries ministries of interior.
I hope that clears that up.

Do you think Cherie Blair has set up NHS clinics over there?

You could fit the entire population of Albania into all of Tony Blair's houses grin

... or Cherie's friend could get them a mortgage.

Heaven help us! and I do not believe there is no financial incentive albeit claimed not to be a fee.
It's bad enough having Cyprus ignoring whatever EU legislation it does not agree with or can earn more by ignoring after paying the fines, I can't see Albania abiding by or incorporating EU regulations even by the 5 years grace they will have. London will become the Capital rather than Tirana I venture to suggest and I wonder how many of the 3 million there will reach Dover. I'm not being xenophobic, in fact I am a supporter of integration, but it does, at least to me, seem to be one way traffic from the poorer, less law abiding states, to the richer.
The only consolation I can see is that those already here illegally will become legal. That said I would think most of those who are here are probably working hard and sending spare cash home much as Romanians and Bulgarians do and they deserve admiration for that albeit they are working illegally. Those employing them probably need the attentions of the home office.

I see that Mr Rama is taking a lead regarding housing and job creation from his mentor who, no doubt, will soon teach him to walk on water.

Seems that TB is helping Albania in its quest to join the EU.

Albania

Is there no end to this man's philanthropy? smile
