The thing that puzzles me is WHY was the original message posted? Was it in response to a thread on Mumsnet about post coital habits, or was it someone who wanted to share their little secret, totally unprompted? It appears from others' comments that they are pretty much alone in this and I'm not surprised, the possibility of spillage or even worse unforseen hazards seems inevitable.

Do we even believe the poster? Or do we think it was posted for effect? If so it was certainly successful!

I thought it was the funniest thread i have ever read. It's not often something can make me laugh out loud when on my own.

The angle of dangle came from a brief conversation I had (at a party I think) many yeasr ago with someone involved in the design of toilets - apparently the angle of dangle is a critical factor. Thinking about it, I can see why!

But they don't just stand there and 'dangle', do they? They can hold them at any angle they want, surely...

There used to be a saying in the 60s " the angle of the dangle is equal to the lustre of the cluster " I was very naïve in those days and did not have a clue what they meant.

Ana - I thnk you will find that when men engage in cubilcle activities they are seated and they do not want to clang on the procelain! It's cold for one thing.

Personally I can understand why women feel the need to have a little wash afterwards. And a wee is supposed to reduce the incidence of cystitis. But I have never encountered a man who leapt out of bed to wash. They usually go to sleep, given a chance.
Do we think maybe there is scope for an invention here - an adjustable bedside willy washer? Inspired by those unspillable paint pots you get from ELC perhaps?

Talking of 'the angle of the dangle', when I was at college in the early 1970's a friend and his girlfriend had a competition to see who could wee up a wall the highest. She won.

I was not a spectator so I can't vouch for the mechanics.

Some years ago we moved around quite a lot, and stayed in rented accommodation. One lovely house built in the 1930s had what I thought at the time were wash handbasins in all of the bedrooms - we joked about needing to get up in the night for an emergency handwash. Now I've read this I'm not so sure!

When we were at university, my OH and his friend had great fun standing on the bathroom scales and watching their weight go down as they weed into the toilet - boys will be boys!

I remember once my OH being confined to bed by a back problem and he needed to wee. I thought I was being very ingenious by cutting the top off a litre plastic fizzy water bottle and taking it to him - he was not amused - the cut edge was pretty sharp!!!
