Just sitting here, after a rather humid day, and now the rain has come.

I remember an evening, many years ago, there had been weeks of hot weather, and suddenly the sky went sort of yellow around 7pm ish , and it seemed that it was about to rain for the first time in weeks, and saying to my DH "When that rain comes, I want to dance in it, naked"

And did you?

berdie Thu 10-Oct-13 07:51:31

You never mentioned what DH's reaction was. wink

Do you have a high garden wall?

Not naked, but my daughters and I were caught out in a torrential downpour in Monaco. It had been very hot and we were wearing light cotton dresses, which were soaked in seconds and clung to our bodies. We had had a couple of drinks, and were very happy, so we danced down the road, singing. We got some disapproving looks, but we didn't care. Happy days!

Staying in Zambia with cousins one Christmas when there had been a drought. Suddenly the rains arrived, and with them, big puddles which my cousin's small daughters hurled themselves into with great glee - in the nude, of course. We, adults, did not follow suit, much as we felt so inclined!

I have danced naked in the rain. We waltzed. Do it in summer when the air temperature is comfortable. Close your eyes and feel the sensation of cool water on warm skin. It's amazing.

Our garden has a 6 feet wall and isn't overlooked btw grin

Remember dancing naked in the rain one night at the end of the long hot summer - 1975 I think it was.

Maniac, I remember that summer [or one very like it]. The house we lived in had a walled courtyard so we were quite safe from neighbours seeing us (or they from usgrin). Don't think I'd do it now - it would terrify the neighbours!

I do! Well I stand naked in the rain, if I danced I could possibly end up with two black eyes grin. My garden is quite enclosed so no chance of frightening the neighbours.

I wouldn't dance naked in the rain, it might frighten the horses.wink

Bernie, Berdie, Birdie, Bern, whatever. Not as bad as some of the names I have been called over the years. smile

Hi Maniac,
I think it may have been 1976. I had my third baby in May that year, but the summer was so hot that it was dangerous to leave a baby out in a pram for even a very short time. The local farmers were having a hard time, we all longed for rain, wish I had danced in it, I am sure everyone in a more primitive society would have done so.

Yes it was 1976. I had my second son in March of that year and I don't remember him wearing anything but nappies the whole of the summer. On the day of his baptism it was so hot that jellies would not set in the fridge but later that evening it rained and we all celebrated though I don't think we went so far as dancing naked ! grin

It was 1976 - DH's parent's had their 40th wedding anniversary party in our garden and we all just sat, unable to move because of the heat. sunshine

My first marriage was on August 28th of that year ('76). It was the first day of rain! (Should have heeded the signs)
