I love Pam Ayres as I only really like poetry that rhymes and makes me smile. Can't be bothered with all that big wordy, meaningful stuff that you have to decipher !

That's a good poem.

She's very good. She has a new book out apparently. Might be one for the
Christmas list.

I knew Pam before she became famous, she used to work at the same place as myself before she joined the WRAF`s ,and I did likewise 2 years after her.
She was living at home in Stanford in the Vale , but used like myself to have to use assited travel with an early start to work at COD Bicester, she attended day release like I did in Oxfords College of Further Education in the Cowley Rd.

There are a few of Pam's poems printed in the paper today. This short one made me smile:

O Botox, O Botox, I'm ever so keen,
To look as I looked at the age of sixteen
Induce paralysis, do as I ask.
Give me, o give me a face like a mask.
O take up a surgical bicycle pump,
And give me some lips that are lovely and plump.
Young men will stagger and say 'Oh my God!
Here comes Pam Ayres... and she looks like a cod!' grin
