Knickers drawer

I do! I have all sorts of small things in my knicker drawer, not necessarily valuable though. Two massive batteries, three bottles of perfume (to stop the light getting to them), a couple of Tena pads (small, may I add) My knicker drawer is a bit like a boy scout's pocket - excluding the Tena pad of course

I always put things away in a safe place and then cant remember the safe place.

Yes, knicker drawer but also pyjama drawer.

The knicker drawer frightens the (adult) grandson off. He won't go looking in there.

I call my knicker drawer the sock drawer.

Depends who you are hiding things from, and why, and for how long. I keep some of my jewellery in my knicker drawer but that's because it's a convenient place to keep it, not because I'm hiding it. Other small things are kept in other clothes drawers, and in lots of other places about the house.

Come to think of it, the only stuff I really hide is my chocolate (from DD) and my wine (from DH), otherwise there's never be any of either when I want some.

petallus, how on earth do you know your knicker drawer frightens your adult GS? The mind boggles!

That Bags It might be the"other items" that Petallus keeps in her knicker drawers that get this reaction.
What I can't understand is why her adult GS looks in her knicker drawer at all the mind boggles! Come on Petallus you owe us an explanation after having revealed this fact! I am now speculating about black leather and hand cuffs.

I am reluctant to come up with an explanation and destroy the air of mystery now.

But... sometime ago GS started borrowing my comb and not returning it so I hid it in a drawer. Then one evening he was desperate to get his hair right before going out so I said he could go and get my comb from the drawer. He said something like, which drawer, I'm not going searching through your underwear (with a note of fear in his voice )

So now, if I want to hid anything from him I know where to put it because even if he got desperate enough to peek in my jumper drawer he would never go into the knicker drawer.

I never had sons so this is my first experience of living with a male relative not my husband (apart from my father and brother when I still lived at home). I make sure I always cover up before leaving my bedroom. Once recently I decided to nip from my bedroom into the room next door for something in my bra and knickers. I thought DGS was asleep in his room but just as I scampered out onto the landing he came out of his door. We both screamed and ran back into our rooms.

I suppose it's a bit unusual to have an adult GS living with you but I wonder how mothers manage the situation with their adult sons.

Like Glass I, too, hide things and then can't remember where I have put them. Years ago I gave my jewellery (in a small plastic tub) to my DH to hide when we were about to go away. Several months later I decided to change my rings and neither of us could remember where he had put the thing. Fast forward about three years and I was going through the DC's toys to see if we could get rid of things to a charity coffee morning. Fortunately I looked inside the Casdon cash register box before I gave it away - and there was the plastic tub!

The non-appearance of the jewellery had been like an elephant in the room - neither of us ever mentioned it as he (and I) knew that I would get upset about its loss (it contained some things from my DM). It was like having all new jewellery when we found it.

My DH was always hiding money around the house (he wouldn't use the safe as he said that is the first place burglars look . I finally got round to having a look in one of his suit pockets the other day and found £200 in notes hidden in the inside pocket! I still can't bring myself to give away any of his clothes - I'm even more less inclined to do so now!
