Good Morning Everyone,
looks like another day of wet weather here in Brackley.

Well done Gally...an epic journey.Big glass of wine and an early night, methinks. ..actually that's just what I feel like after a week with DIL and DGS here.Great fun but am exhausted smile

Gally Wed 23-Oct-13 18:34:29

I have driven through wind, rain, spray and sun today on my journey home from the South. Absolutely magical through Cumbria. Crazy drivers on the motorway driving without lights in appalling weather and doing speeds probably in excess of 100 mph in some cases. shock. It was good to arrive home in one piece and stretch my legs on the beach. I always feel a sense of 'phew, home and peace at last' when I cross the Forth Road Bridge.

I've been watching from under my blankie!

All forums go a bit crazy at times - it's not easy communicating without either visual or audio clues as to the demeanour of the person posting. Mistakes happen, people post when they shouldn't, don't post when they should, take umbrage, trawl up old real or imagined slights, blah, blah, blah.

There's a lot more good than bad. Here's to it wine

Mrs M. welcome. So you have decided to join even after reading the acrimony of the last few weeks! wink I can reassure you its generally a lot of fun grin.

Welcome Natsnan

AlieOxon Wed 23-Oct-13 15:14:59

I actually stuck my washing out for about 2 hours - now dry enough so I can put it on the radiators....sigh - I hate that.
But my gardener got rained off earlier.

ffinnochio Wed 23-Oct-13 14:57:08

B - Rainbow rain. Wonderful! sunshine

MrsM Wed 23-Oct-13 14:11:39

Hello Natsnan - we must be GN twins smile

Still no rain here, though the clouds are scudding along like crazy. The dog is taking advantage of the unexpected warmth and lying outside toasting her tummy. Not for much longer, methinks.

Did you hear the weather forecast before the Radio4 1pm news? Very dark hints about Monday. Not exactly plagues of boils but advice to 'watch this space'.

btw, I do have thoughts other than meteorological ones. I will share them as time goes on smile

annodomini Wed 23-Oct-13 13:48:22

There is sunlight streaming through my windows, showing me how much they need cleaning. sad but smile

thatbags Wed 23-Oct-13 13:13:54

heartstarting

thatbags Wed 23-Oct-13 13:13:39

Walked home from my Hearttarting morning
chasing a rainbow,
against a stiff westerly,
watching the rafts
of eider on the loch
and the gulls rising on air lift.

Raining again two minutes after I got in.

But that's allright
cos it's rainbow rain.

Is that a patch of blue sky I see between the clouds? Surely not? Mind you, don't see much in the way of sky these days as am staying up later and later at night/early morning and getting up later. The nocturnal side of me is taking over; as they said about Michael Howard 'there's something of the night about me' shock....[mind you I was on Australian Radio listening to the Geelong Cup in the early hours, preparing myself for the 'race that stops a nation' in two weeks time...]

ffinnochio Wed 23-Oct-13 12:33:54

Hi Natsnan - sunshine

Just been sitting outside on the bench, having lunch. It's a wonderful sky-scape; scudding clouds blown by a warm south westerly. OH chatting about 'angular momentum' - a new concept for me! As far as I was concerned, the high clouds and low clouds we just moving differently. smile

annodomini Wed 23-Oct-13 12:14:57

And welcome to you too, Natsnan. smile

Natsnan Wed 23-Oct-13 12:09:14

Hi everyone. Like Mrs M I have been "lurking" for ages but have decided to take the plunge and join you in your chat and discussions. It's sunny with blue sky down here on the south coast after a terrific storm last night. Still very mild luckily, so no need for the heating on yet smile

annodomini Wed 23-Oct-13 11:46:14

Good to meet you MrsM. Glad you have stepped out of the shadows! smile

kittylester Wed 23-Oct-13 11:41:22

Good morning everyone, nice to have you with us Mrs M.
Thunder, lightning and heavy rain last night. At the moment it's dry here but as I have to go out and I've been left in charge of the washing on the line, it will probably rain as soon as I get to the end of the road.

harrigran Wed 23-Oct-13 10:17:30

Welcome MrsM
Weather here is as gillybob and Stansgran as I am situated midway between the two.
We had thunder last night but it didn't seem to clear the air.
Off to the Metro centre for some retail therapy.

Stansgran Wed 23-Oct-13 10:02:13

Hello MrsM. Joining Gransnet is like learning to swim. Dip the toe in or leap from the side with a big splash. The wetness us all embracing in Durham . DH is sleeping in and so I'm creeping round when I really NEED to Hoover .

Charleygirl Wed 23-Oct-13 09:59:31

There is this weird yellow thing in the sky tring to peep through. At least all of the heavy rain has dried up and it remains mild.

ffinnochio Wed 23-Oct-13 09:54:00

Hello Mrs.M. smile

Dry, mild and sunny. A glorious walk, and now another leaf-raking and digging over the veg. patch day.

MrsM Wed 23-Oct-13 09:48:10

Good morning. It's dry! shock There's a bit of blue sky! shock Cancel the ark-building. Revise the decision to finally buy a tumble drier smile

Well, after lurking and trying to follow posts for the last 2 months, with very occasional forays into ^safish* areas like TV, I've decided it's time to 'join the community'. Hello all - it's nice to be here

PRINTMISS Wed 23-Oct-13 09:46:13

Godo morning being kept awake half the night, I have over-slept on the very morning I should be up and running (well nearly). Heavy showers and sun on the menu by the looks of things. Enjoy your days

annodomini Wed 23-Oct-13 09:26:38

Everything is dripping! I might as well make a pond at the bottom of the garden now that the thriving weeds have been cleared out.
