Good morning everyone, dark and dismal here at the moment, hope it brightens, did the washing last night because the forecast was good for the morning. After a day of sitting listening to lots of interesting conversations and views yesterday, I ache all over - sitting for a long time not good for old bones. Enjoy your days.

Wet, windy, dank and dismal in East Sussex. New shed arrived at 17.15. and it was totally dark by the time they finished building it. It needs to be treated with a water sealant but that will have to wait. Huge Gail due Monday. The weather reminds me of how it was before the hurricane of 1987. Help!

It has rained all night here on the North East coast. Absolutely lashing down now and very very dark. The sea and the sky seem almost joined together. Anyway off to work. Have a good day everyone.

If they were building it in the dark, I hope your shed isn't too lopsided Brendawymms smile

What a difference a day makes. Was tee shirt weather at Southwell yesterday; now grey and miserable and drizzly. Just off to Ilkeston to MOT the car; I love Ilkeston although this is the fist year I've been since they closed down the Co op there. Sad person that I am I used to really look forward to my annual trip to Ilkeston Co op sad.

Good morning everyone. Apparently we have to batten down the hatches in Somerset for Sunday. High winds frighten me so I am dreading it.

Morning all, it's wet, windy and warmish here. Looking on the bright side, I've not had the heating on and it's nearly November!
I am getting slightly quite concerned about the heating bills hmm

Anyway, I'm going for a birthday lunch (not mine) with some of my chums, at my favourite country pub, and the best news is that we're getting 25% off the bill for booking online! smile

Happy Friday!

annodomini Fri 25-Oct-13 09:22:52

Trees are tossing gently and it's raining on and off. Shame! Yesterday was so glorious.

MrsM Fri 25-Oct-13 09:25:54

It's very warm but very dull here. At least the rain came and went overnight, so hopefully things might improve

Friday! Hooray! Does anyone else still see Friday as a great day, even though the 9-5 Mon-Fri routine is a thing of the past. It must be something hard-wired in us former wage-slaves

Enjoy it anyway, whatever you are doing

Pissing down. Driech. Dark. Breezy. Bit choppy on the loch. An indoor day methinks.

Sook Fri 25-Oct-13 09:31:21

Wet and windy in my corner of Cheshire but also quite warm. Have been for a hike with the hounds, who are now lounging on sofas zzzing.

Enjoy your day smile

thatbags Fri 25-Oct-13 09:33:34

What kind of hounds do you have, sook?

Galen Fri 25-Oct-13 09:36:00

Morning all. Sunshine at the moment, but as LizG says! 'we're expecting storm force winds on Sunday'
Bloody hell! I pad is now correcting my punctuation! When did they start doing that?
I put says,
It insists on says!

thatbags Fri 25-Oct-13 09:38:16

You must like it really, galen, or you'd turn the correction wotsit off.

tiggypiro Fri 25-Oct-13 09:43:16

T-shirts yesterday, cold and wet today. No wonder the British are renowned
for constantly talking about the weather.

Galen Fri 25-Oct-13 09:44:17

Yip! But it's never done it before and I'm finding it kind of freaky!
Does anybody else's iPad do this?
Ah! Caught it out! Put an exclamation mark rather than a ? At the end of the question and had to correct it myself![smug]smile

LizG Fri 25-Oct-13 09:56:32

Good to know you are cleverer than your ipad Galen I thought the auto correct on my kindle had somehow switched itself back on until I realised I was dragging my pinkie over the sensitive (bless) keys smile

Blue sky now....

Stansgran Fri 25-Oct-13 14:29:48

Vile morning after an exceptionally perfect yesterday at Beamish. Now the sun is out and tHe sky is blue. Off to Sleeping Beauty with DGD at the Sunderland Empire. It's the BRB and they are usually brilliant. Feeding nine tomorrow and DH has brought home two packets of mince. He must think I can walk on water as well.

Lona Fri 25-Oct-13 16:50:22

stansgran I'm sure you could if you put your mind to it! grin

annodomini Fri 25-Oct-13 16:55:20

It turned into a reasonable afternoon and I have again been down the garden to see if I can get some more damsons from the tree that overhangs the brook. Without putting myself in mortal danger, I don't think I can get any more, but I did get another pound which will make me another batch of damson yoghurt. Still picking twigs out of my hair. I also proved conclusively that I can't hear my oven timer at the end of the garden - result : a somewhat over-baked sponge. blush
