Is there such a thing as 'good quality acrylic'?

I try and avoid clothes that are 100% Acrylic because of the static and also makes me sweat plus I much prefer how natural fabrics feel on me and to the touch.

But I will sometimes buy something that is a mix of say cotton and acrylic. The other day I saw a dress in a catalogue that I fancied and it was "Good Quality Acrylic" - and that made me wonder, isn't all acrylic the same?

Some acrylics are quite thick quality - I got a M&S long cardi which has a very nice 'handle'. On the other hand, there are other garments you could shoot peas through!

I had a lovely beanie type hat, recently, from M&S, for my birthday...looks like it is chunky wool knitted on big needles..label inside says 100% acrylic, made in China, so maybe the answer is 'yes' confused

I buy quite a few James Lakeland italian-made clothes and have been surprised by how much acrylic they have in them, but the clothes are beautiful and wash and wear well, so I have to say, yes.
