On the sensuousness of wrapping up warmly

I love the winter and having to dress up warmly. Bought a feather padded waterproof coat in a soft greyish blue last year and love it.

Although the thing itself is not sensuous (it's even ugly) I adore my electric blanket which I bought last year as well after much prevaricating. My bedroom is quite chilly and I so look forward to slipping between sheets no longer icy but wonderfully warm. I sometimes let out a sensuous sigh as I snuggle in.

I am a cold being. I don't like having to wear layers of clothing in the winter but I dislike being cold even more.
I have just bought a fleece gillett. I might decide not to keep it after I try it on, but with right arm in a sling for the time being it might just be a lot easier than trying to get a big cardigan on.

Yesterday I raided my wardrobe and got out my Down Filled 3/4 Jacket which is in Winter White and I do so love it,I bought it 2 winters ago when we here on GN where discussing Winter Coats and bought it from LEnd,it must be my most favourite buy I wear it with a big chunky scarf my jeans and warm boots it really is the cosiest I have ever felt when I go out in the cold weather.

Warm weather and summer clothes for me, I hate being wrapped up in loads of clothes, makes me feel cluttered and clumsy.

I love the sunshine but | am uncomfortable in summer clothes. There is too much of my body that is unshowable (made up word) now. I love boots, thick tights, black jeans and cosy jumpers and tunics, lovely winter coats and gloves.

OMG, lovely hot sunshine for me.

Like you FlicketyB I much prefer the colder months. Nothing beats walking along a deserted beach, in the howling wind, listening to the waves break...my idea of heaven, and, with just a half hour drive, something I can indulge in smile
I love layers, and the snugglier the better! Sleeveless t-shirt or vest, with a nice warm, fluffy jumper on top. And if it's extra chilly (minimal heating here) I have an old loop-knit long cardi, much washed, worn and mis-shapen, that I can stick on top and wrap around me. And I couldn't live without my super duper fluffy socks and slipperssmile
I had a bonus find in a charity shop last year, full-length, quilted lining, fur-hooded waterproof coat...that, and my long fluffy scarf, mean I can wander around for hours in this lovely, blustery weather and still be snuggly and warm!
Lush sunshine

We have many serious and practical discussions on keeping warm, house insulation and carbon cutting. I thought it was time we had a thread on the sensuousness of warm clothes.

I am not a summer person. the first signs of autumn make my heart sing and I cannot wait to get my winter clothes out of storage, but on a really cold day the sensuous warmth in the light fluffiness of a thermal vest or the comfort of light looped thermal socks that wrap your feet in warmth like a shawl is cannot be beaten.

I recently bought a sweater in Sainsburies, multi coloured in shades of autumn and pinks. It has a loose knit and a cowl collar. It makes me feel warm just to look at it and it is deliciously warm when worn. I also have a magnificent wool sweater I bought in Iceland, its warmth is overwhelming unless temperatures outside are below zero and you are outside too, but in those conditions it keeps me so warm and to be outside in a cold wind yet aware how warm you are is a fabulous feeling.
