I adore my grandchildren but sometimes, just sometimes I wish they would keep their opinions to themselves.
My DGD then aged 10, and I were walking through a woodland, we were enjoying the daffodils and listening to the birdsong. She turned to me and said "Grandma, do you remember when I was 3 and mummy was getting married and I said to you that you looked 'stunning'?" "I do" I said, "I do, it was a lovely thing to say and made my day" She looked seriously into my face and said "I didn't meant it". she said it without malice or cheek and seemed to really feel she was doing me a kindness by telling me the truth.
We both laughed so maybe she was joking. I hope so.
One of my three year old DGS came up to me at a family barbeque and said very quietly, patting my tummy "you got baby in there grandma?" Oh dear!!
I am sure GNetters have more of the same to tell.
