Good Morning Everyone,
Its been a bit chilly overnight here in Brackley, looks like cold weather coming in.
Off to Wantage today to a beer festival, my chosen route is by bus to Banbury and then train to Oxford , and then the X30 to Wantage from botley rd.

Have a good journey, Mick. That sounds like quite a trek, and one where you have to stay awake!

Brendawymms Fri 15-Nov-13 07:14:21

Dry and calm in East Sussex. very little sleep last night as the brain would not stop thinking about trivia!
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible. flowers

Good morning Mick and everyone else. Hope you enjoy your beer festival and are able to roll back safely as well. It is cold and frosty here too.

Aka Fri 15-Nov-13 07:29:54

Off to hospital later this morning to bring MiL home.

NfkDumpling Fri 15-Nov-13 07:43:21

Overcast here this morning, no frost though - and I think I've got a cold. Hopefully echinacea will put a stop to it, and hopefully I didn't give it to my 7week old DGS yesterday.

Have a great day Mick. Sounds good!

Aka hope all goes well transporting your MiL. Bet she'll be glad to be out of hospital.

AlieOxon Fri 15-Nov-13 07:50:58

Tired today after yesterday's hospital and then meeting - but the meeting went quite well. I've never before put myself in the position of running anything like this, but find I actually enjoy it!

Today I sort out the things I didn't do in the last two days, and try again to contact another builder.....

Charleygirl Fri 15-Nov-13 07:52:15

It is cold here in London, no frost and the sun is peeping through. I am having a CT scan on my knee this morning so I must get a move on because of the traffic.

Aka hope your MiL is okay. She will be pleased to get out of hospital.

Aka Fri 15-Nov-13 08:11:10

Thanks Nfk & Charley we've quite missed her and so have the GC.

gillybob Fri 15-Nov-13 08:17:57

Good morning from a bright and cold North East coast.

Enjoy your beer festival Mick have one for me! smile

Glad to hear you MiL coming home Aka

We all have colds here too NfkDumpling and with the amount of visiting and "looking after" I do it is impossible not to pass it on.

Have a good day everyone . Off to work . smile

Lovely pink sky this morning, but we had a gorgeous red sunset last night. So, sailors or shepherds? confused

PRINTMISS Fri 15-Nov-13 08:57:40

A very bright cold morning this morning, not as much wind as yesterday, but twice as many leaves! More sweeping up I think. Not a lot planned for today, but must get moving as odds and ends need doing, these always seem to take longer than the long haul ones. Enjoy your days.

grannyactivist Fri 15-Nov-13 09:09:46

Beautiful sunshine here in my corner of Devon. The hills are clear, but the sky is white with mist that the sunshine will soon clear away.
I've had a bad cold for a couple of days, so not sleeping well at the moment. Sitting up in bed waiting for a Skype call from my daughter in New Zealand.

kittylester Fri 15-Nov-13 10:08:55

Enjoy your call GA. How is your grandson? Hope you feel better soon. flowers And you gillybob flowers

Hope your MIL's move back home goes well Aka brew

Alie, it must be time for a sit down in soop's kitchen by now. cupcake

Try not to drink too much Mick. wine

I'm discombobulated this morning, which is why I'm late on here. Dh is on a course and had to leave the house by 8.15 [rather than the usual 9.30] so I was in charge of tidying up. confused

Anyway, the weather here is crisp and bright but it is forecast to get much colder. Brrr!

Kiora Fri 15-Nov-13 10:42:48

Lovely crisp morning in Kent. It's my grandchild care day but my husband is standing in for me while I go gallivanting around faversham with an old friend. I predict a riot on my return.

AlieOxon Fri 15-Nov-13 10:45:37

I just got this from South Africa (distant cousin)

During a visit to my doctor, I asked him, "How do you determine whether
or not an older person should be put in an old age home?"
"Well," he said, "we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup
and a bucket to the person to empty the bathtub."
"Oh, I understand," I said. "A normal person would use the bucket because
it is bigger than the spoon or the teacup.."
"No" he said. "A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed
near the window?"

NfkDumpling Fri 15-Nov-13 19:44:27

grin I like that one!

Kiora Sat 16-Nov-13 09:11:34

Titter titter loved it AllieOxon

Dull and grey in Cheshire again.

PRINTMISS As for fallen leaves and there are a lot more to come, if it stays dry and we get a good wind, they all blow right off my front lawn and into the front of the house next door. This has a corner by their garage which collects the leaves. grin

annodomini Sat 16-Nov-13 10:25:51

It's a constant battle at this time of year. My front door opens directly into the sitting room, so it's inevitable that every time someone comes in, so do the leaves. I mainly use the back door which is better, but visitors don't.

AlieOxon Sat 16-Nov-13 10:50:53

I keep having to open the back door for the cat! She has decided that she will drink outside not inside.

AlieOxon Sat 16-Nov-13 10:55:25

Friday has turned into Saturday, but that's normal!

Nelliemoser Sat 16-Nov-13 11:41:56

Mea Culpa Allie

I also burnt the same batch of porridge twice this morning. I am blaming Gransnet for having two burnt saucepans to clean.
The remains of the porridge are on the compost heap.
I had a bowl of it raw in the end.

To cap this catalogue of incompetence, I then spilt some of the new pack of the porridge onto the kitchen floor trying to pick it up one handed to put it away.

AlieOxon Sat 16-Nov-13 12:40:09

A little porridge goes a long way....been there, done that
