harrigan do you realise that your better half could make a fortune by advertising his car washing skills? I would be first in the queue.

soop no charity shop would turn away any book around here. My local charity shop had so many books donated that they bracketed off a part of the storage area so the books have an entire room and it is fabulous as somebody took the time to list them alphabetically and by genre.

harrigran It's really difficult for me to part with a book, no matter how tatty in appearance. In fact, I've a duffle bag full of such books. I took them into the Red Cross charity shop along with lots of good clothing. The lady was delighted with the clothing but said that there was no "call for books"...such a pity, I think.

Galen...I understand. You are pushing yourself hard right now. Keep warm and enjoy some much needed and well deserved "me time".

Grey and dull here. DH got the pressure washer out and is cleaning the car. I am putting off sorting hundreds of books by hiding in the study. I have a nice new bookcase coming in a couple of weeks but where do I hide the tattier books ?

Nowt! Just very tired and it's horrible out! Been driving up and down to Gloucester a lot to help with dgds. It's almost a hundred miles round trip and I'm not really used to doing a lot of driving. Also not sleeping a lot due to arthritis.
My plumbing is being done next week starting Tuesday . I'm doing tribunals in Taunton on Tuesday Wednesday and in Bristol on Thursday. I'm going up to DD's on Monday so just grabbing warmth and rest while I can!

Not so good Saturday - Last night had to take our little 4 m old DGD to A and E with breathing problems. S
he is now being tube fed and on oxygen.

Gillybob you're right but I don't use biological powders due to slight eczema in the family. Sometimes help DD out with her piles of washing and GD2 suffers if biological is used.

Dyeing clothes has advanced from the days of using an enamel pail on top of the cooker, stirring and boiling for ages. Now, bung the whole lot into the washing machine. Always an interesting outcome

Should have used Daz to keep your whites right. Agus sounds fun though.

A tad grey here in Central Scotland but I care not. Listening to new CD, Astor Piazolla, Classical Tango. Wonderful.

Searching for whites that are no longer quite white and as I bought a few dyes yesterday, I'm planning some clothes dyeing experiments.

Soft and mild here. I've been admiring the autumnality of larch and fuchsia.

Good morning. It's a beautiful bright morning here on the North East coast. The sunset last night was spectacular !

Same here in NW London- no heating on yet. The house I think is well insulated.

I have an appointment at an eye clinic today- I did not think that they worked on Saturdays but there are too many of us, they are having problems coping locally. We are not shuffling off this mortal coil fast enough.

Crisp and bright on the south coast, so much nicer to have a bright morning makes getting out of bed and up and running(!?) so much easier. Enjoy your days everyone.

The weather has reverted to grey and overcast in my part of the East Midlands. It seems to be the default setting round here.

Bright and crisp here in Mid-Sussex. Beautiful clear skies and sun, but a bit of a nip in the air...luvverly.

Bit of tutoring for a lad in the village at 9, then home to housework before a lovely leisurely lunch with an old friend, and then a quiet evening in front of the TV/pooter, just me and the 4 puddytats. Bliss!

May potter about in the garden a bit, but nothing too strenuous

Hi there, sunny here in Kent one of those wonderful autumnal mornings. Just as well as my husbands bought a car that isn't ready to leave the forecourt and he's taken the other off the road so he's having to commute by motorbike. Fingers crossed that the weather stays mild for the next week.
