First time I've been described as a guru. Not bad at 3 am though I'd rather be asleep!

Maggiemaybe Wed 20-Nov-13 00:50:06

Oh how true [Grannyknot]! I'll stick with the uncertainty of Maggiemaybe.

Hunt Tue 19-Nov-13 23:15:14

So easy. I am a great lover of 'whom',mellifluous word.

Ana Tue 19-Nov-13 23:04:38

I agree, absent. Some of it was just spelling/punctuation.

liminetta Tue 19-Nov-13 23:02:20

I was disappointed to only get 81%.Thought I was pretty good at English Language.but.....that was a looooonnnnnngggg time ago!smile

Maniac Tue 19-Nov-13 22:59:02

100% but had to think hard about who/whom

absent Tue 19-Nov-13 22:35:45

Some of that wasn't grammar.

Tegan Tue 19-Nov-13 22:33:59

Maggie maybe, but oh, the pressure!

FlicketyB Tue 19-Nov-13 21:49:34

97% opted for bored of rather than bored with, I think it was the lack of a definite article before 'math. My preferred answer there would have been 'bored with the math.

olive2709 Tue 19-Nov-13 21:09:08

I have dyslexia and I got 81% feel good about that

Maggiemaybe Tue 19-Nov-13 20:42:03

100%. I was lucky on the that/which though - I don't really understand the difference, just went with the ones that sounded slightly better. Grammarguru would be a great Gransnet name. smile

Stansgran Tue 19-Nov-13 20:11:35

97per cent. Shame that / which. Of course it's optional IMO,!!!

soop Tue 19-Nov-13 15:24:59

Elegran grin

Anniebach Tue 19-Nov-13 10:43:00

89% but in my defence I am left handed and dislike 'whom'

Elegran Tue 19-Nov-13 09:47:35

I read somewhere "You can lay a table, an egg, a woman. Without an object, today you lie down, yesterday you lay down."

rockgran Mon 18-Nov-13 23:28:08

100% - the "lie and lay" one is my pet hate!

janthea Mon 18-Nov-13 15:25:58

Year's and Years' - I got one of those wrong.

KatyK Mon 18-Nov-13 15:05:13

97% - no problems with apostrophes but I would never say 'whom did you
see at the pub' so one wrong for me smile

soop Mon 18-Nov-13 12:07:05

97% Same here Nfk wink

NfkDumpling Mon 18-Nov-13 07:17:46

sunflowersuffolk Mon 18-Nov-13 05:08:36

94% but just recovering from a migraine - that's my excuse .
