Not too long before the evenings start to lighten.

Had all the curtains closed so didn't see. Gets dark very quickly these days, doesn't it?

Did you have that really eerie sky just before sunset Tegan. Strange light at one side of the house and pinky orange on the other side. Did it reach as far as you? It was very spooky. Looked for witches on besoms but didn't see any. grin

I used to use a besom broom on my lawn [my house was a pigsty and I'd be outside sweeping the lawn] and the grass grew better than ever before. I need to get another one. Where's Amberley Museum? [other than being at Amberley I mean]. I am still trying to get off the pooter; I was just about to go out when my daughter came round and it's completely thrown me [might just give up and start again tomorrow].

Tegan Get off the pooter! Incidentally, you will see I volunteer at Amberley Museum where they have a traditional besom maker (I think I have the spelling right, if not it's a broom of sorts!) and before the days of Harry Potter, the children would come into the print shop with their besoms and I would say 'are you going home on that' their parents would smile, and the children look bewildered. Since the days of Harry Potter, the answer to the question is a definite 'Yes'.

Will someone PLEASE tell me to get off the pooter and go and do some housework.....

kittylester Mon 18-Nov-13 15:38:25

Haven't you got one like the chap out of Only Fools and Horses (maybe Trigger) Printmiss?

He'd had the same one for as long as he'd worked for the council although it had had to have 6 new heads and 8 new handles [or something like that] grin

Handles used to be called 'stales' by my Lancashire Nan!

PRINTMISS Mon 18-Nov-13 15:19:43

Charleygirl thanks for the invitation, I would love to accept (of course!) but unfortunately the broom has broken, so not only can I not sweep, I can't use it to get to you either, perhaps another time?

Good afternoon. It has stopped raining at last after a night of torrential rain.
Builder came this morning and built me a nice big cupboard in the bedroom, bye, bye to clutter. I have only been in the house 42 years smile

Good Morning from Cheshire. For comments on the weather no change from the last four grey damp days. I think I will comment when there has been a change.

sunflowersuffolk Mon 18-Nov-13 10:17:48

From North Suffolk .... Grey, grey, and more grey, damp and still.

Anno I have just come back to say something similar - the tree in the front garden opposite is the most glorious colours (orange, red and green) now that the sun is peeping through behind it.

annodomini Mon 18-Nov-13 09:56:39

Very dreich - only lit up by the bright golden leaves and yellow berries on the rowan outside my windows.

BAnanas Mon 18-Nov-13 09:45:45

It's one shade of grey, I have yet to venture out, but will be meeting a friend for a coffee in town later, hope it won't rain would rather walk than take the car.

Charleygirl Mon 18-Nov-13 09:21:22

It has been raining here in NW London but it is now dry but dull. At least it does not appear to be cold.

*PRINTMISS" feel free to come here to do leaf sweeping. Once you are in the mood, you will be looking for more work. By the time you come the bin men will have emptied the appropriate wheelie bin and there will be no hindrance.

kittylester Mon 18-Nov-13 09:17:58

Morning all! Surprisingly, it is grey and overcast in my bit of the world! sad

Enjoy your days, all! sunshine

PRINTMISS Mon 18-Nov-13 09:16:24

Good morning everyone, dull here too, although it looks as if it might brighten up. Was too busy indoors yesterday to get out into the garden to sweep up more leaves, but have plans for that later - Oh! I do really know how to live the life you know. Enjoy your days.

berdie Mon 18-Nov-13 08:57:36

Morning all, dull and overcast here in Bradford, forecast not too good all week, heyho.

NfkDumpling Mon 18-Nov-13 08:54:52

Good morning Mick. Miserable here. Damp and horrible. Did you have a good time at the beer festival?

12Michael Mon 18-Nov-13 07:41:09

Good Morning Everyone,
Its a dry but dull start here in Brackley, looked out of the window and the Town Hall clock weather is an easterly pointer on it.
New midi computer eing done today.
