Good morning a flurry of snow on the ground this morning in Cheshire.
Last night the central heating and hot water failed to come on as timed at 16:30.
We both tried all settings on timer and thermostat. No joy. I called Brit Gas for today. This morning radiators warm at 6:30 am. ?something not righ!
I hope its not down to me fiddling with the timer. I will feel very embarrassed when the man comes.

A lovely sunny morning over here in south Manchester. Just walked the dog through crisp autumn leaves and stood watching the horses playing in the field. A day to celebrate being retired! smile

Sunny and windy here in Malta with no sign of the 'dirty rain' we were told to expect. Have a good day, everyone smile

Bright clear high tide and a full moon still in the sky. The channel looks blue and calm. I've just seen a tug go down .

PRINTMISS Tue 19-Nov-13 08:29:38

Bright an clear here on the Sussex coast, cold, but I am going to wrap up and play bowls outside in the Pyramid competition, playing a new member, a man who seems quite pleasant. Tegan in answer to your question about Amberley it is in the heart of the South Downs West Sussex. Enjoy your days everyone.

Good Morning I hope the snow stays on your patch Nellie. Sleety rain here just a few miles down the road from you.

Galen I love tug boats I used to love watching them on the River Mersey.

Nelliemoser Tue 19-Nov-13 08:41:41

Ah! Sook looking out of my front window it is bright here but there are a lot of big billowy, wet looking clouds about. We shall probably get some soon.

Bright blue skies and sunshine, getting colder, but still quite bearable.

I wanted to see that James Gandolfini film too Nonu but think it has moved on now, I will put it on my Lovefilm list. Sadly it's his last.

A beautiful day here in London, bright and sunny but a tad cold. Heating is not on yet as I am rationing at present.

posie Tue 19-Nov-13 11:30:17

A beautiful day here too! Sunny, blue sky & a frosting of snow.

I was dreading the snow forecasted as we live up an uphill unmade track & it makes for difficulties, but it's turned out to be one of those lovely to be alive days!

dustyangel Tue 19-Nov-13 11:53:51

Good morning, sunshine for me as we have the internet back after 11 days without, no mainline phone yet but am feeling less isolated already. It makes you realise how much we rely on technology.

Sunshine and blue skies outside as well. Not as warm as last week and a slightly chilly wind but still lovely for relatives who've just arrived.

Bellasnana, you brought back memories for me. I first experienced dirty rain when we lived in Malta 45 years ago. It would have been about this time of year too. We seem to get it earlier in Portugal, usually when still using the white furniture outside, horrible orange stuff that needs cleaning quickly so that it doesn't stain.

posie Tue 19-Nov-13 12:00:59

Dirty rain? Haven't heard of that before Bellasnana & dustyangel.
Funny, because only the other day I said to someone "isn't it good that rain is clear & colourless".
Do tell more.

Well it's just struck 12 so good afternoon. Cold but dry clear and sunny with blue skys. Snow on the Nefen Mountains over in Sligo makes a lovely sight but not on the Partry over in Galway our Croagh Partick is still clear. Had a busy morning taking the bins to the end of the lane and getting the car ready fr the National Car Test on Thursday. Have a good day everyone. sunshine

Nonu Tue 19-Nov-13 13:05:13

oops , Meant BANANAS !!!!!!!

Bellasnana Tue 19-Nov-13 13:12:27

dustyangel - yes, it does make a mess doesn't it! posie - it is rain mixed with red sand which we get when the wind is blowing from the direction of Libya/Tunis. It usually seems to happen just after you have washed the car or cleaned the windows!

dustyangel Tue 19-Nov-13 17:50:11

posie, yes, we were told that it was sand from the Sahara. The funny thing is that although the Algarve is a windy place (that is why we have so much sunshine, the clouds get blown away!) the orange rain seems to only happen with the first rains in the Autumn. It's as if it collects in one cloud ready to let drop.
