Goes to Woolovers! A small firm, where the Customer Services is staffed by real people, where they answer within seconds and put you through right away, where they have a 12 week period in which goods can be returned and in my case - didn't even do that sharp intake of breath when I admitted I had lost my receipt! Is this the difference between smaller and human and ginormous??

Mine must go to Lakeland for really excellent customer service I rang for a replacement lid for my neighbours Ramoska and told the CS lady who answered the phone the problem, she asked when it was bought and went straight to the sale they had on record and reordered a complete new product for my neighbour which arrived two days later they relly do deserve a pat on the back.

We are enjoying dealing with 'Sofas&Stuff'.....so far they seem a really jolly bunch and really take the time to help you choose without any of that nasty high pressured selling. Will let you know more when the sofas arrive!

John Lewis. I bought a puppet theatre for my boisterous grandsons, and after 7 months a small crack appeared in the wooden frame. We thought it could be glued, but decided to phone and explain in case it happened to others, too. The helpful customer service advisor said we shouldn't have to accept that standard, and offered to send another, and collect the one with the crack. Then, ten minutes later, she phoned back to say that she and her manager had had a chat, and they would send the new puppet theatre, but we should keep the other, and maybe if it was ok when glued we could pass it on to a child who would enjoy it. We did, and both puppet theatres are going strong two years later.

Plumbs. I ordered a sofa cover which was returned by the 'consultant' as she (and I) deemed it a bad fit. The second effort took a long time to be delivered and eventually arrived the day before I left on an extended trip to Sydney so I didn't have much of a chance to check it. On my return, I decided that it looked like a pair of yer Granny's oversized drawers and the consultant had failed to remove the original cover so it was more like yer Granny's corset over her drawers! It didn't fit in the right places and I just couldn't live with it a day longer. The 'consultant' arrived and agreed that it was awful but said I would probably lose my deposit but receive the difference, upon which I said 'not a chance' and within a week had the entire amount refunded. So good for Plumbs - but I won't be ordering from them again wink

My vote goes to acclesfield Hospital, for the most efficient, amazing care. They have had a dreadful reputation but I think they are really getting their act together now.

Oops...Macclesfield!

Orchard Games (Tummy Ache, Dotty Dinosaurs, Shopping List etc) Several of these games are much loved by grandchildren of all ages. When we lost a dice (die?) with colours on each side I contacted them and they sent one by return of post with no charge. Also cheery note saying if they could help with anything else to contact them. Hurrah!

I'd agree with Lakeland who have done exactly the same when I ordered a vegetable rack that didn't fit in the space I'd allocated for it. A local playgroup now has a free storage trolley.

And John Lewis for their helpful, kind staff. sunshine

My vote goes to the Wool Warehouse. Very speedy delivery. A website that works and a spectacular range of yarns. The girls on the phones are patience personified. flowers

Our local electrical shop. A family firm called Postles. When our TV went phut a year or two back, they brought round two different sizes, installed both and agreed when we went for the smaller one. They undercut John Lewis and took away the old set. Needless to say our new fridge, kettle, mum's kettle, mum's radio, torches etc, etc come from them too!

Oak Furnitureland. Helpful but not pushy salesperson, good liaison re delivery, a proper time slot provided and a call 30 minutes before actual delivery. Cheerful and helpful deliverymen.
