Christmas present challenge

Tickets for something on next trip to the UK? Tickets for something in France? Promise of dinner somewhere? is there the equivalent of the National Trust? Garden vouchers? A bottle of something special (to be bought in France of course - Cognac/Armagnac/ )a good single malt whisky (do not buy this in France). Oh dear!! DH and I are giving each other/ourselves the New Year's Day Gala Concert by the BSO plus a night in a hotel and dinner somewhere in Poole/Westbourne/Bournemouth.

Thank you gracesmum, the BSO sounds lovely, we used to go and see them a lot when we lived there.
We are planning a winter holiday so I can put some towards that, but as we are on our own and won't do family presents until we come over after Christmas, I wanted something for Christmas morning.
Will keep thinking!

Mamie Has he got one of those leather apron things with pockets to hold the tools while he is working? That will free up the loving wife who is always being told to pass him this or fetch him that. They have places for a handful of nails or screws, too.

Ooh the multitool does look possible. He does have masses of black cases of various sizes full of tools from Lidl all over the property and never knows if they are in house, barn, potting shed or cellar, so all in one place sounds good. I see they have them in Cotswold company too.

But on second thoughts I think it might cause a problem at customs.... Where do you buy the pinnies?

One present to DH which did not get a lot of use but was exactly right for some situations was a Snake Scope - a little light on the end of a bendy tube with a connection to the PC. You could look round corners with it, or poke it through small holes into inaccessible places. It has been borrowed by several family members.

I bought him a lovely Swiss Army multitool but when going through all his tools recently I found it pristine and unused. The blades were still sharp enough to cut my fingers when I opened them.

Google "leather tool pouch" There are various types. There seem to be ones specially for electricians or carpenters too.

I think the Snake Scope came from Maplin. They have a lot of unusual tools of various sorts. Google that too.

Do you have a digital photo frame? My parents have all the photos that were displayed around their large house on one ever changing frame now...a boon when downsizing!
