Absolutely lovely bags! You are very clever finding - and making the temarikai. I'd never heard of them but I did used to make a ball out of rubber bands when I was working and once inherited quite a large and colourful one from a post room friend who was retiring! Does that count?

Smoked salmon replenished and in the fridge soop plus a wee bit of chicken for Rory.

They all seemed to enjoy the mulled cider and OH said it was very good. Personally I thought it was like cough mixture but then I am not keen on mulled anything. Decided not to force you to finish it off as it didn't seem fair

Just popped in for a medicinal glug of something in the quiet of the Kitchen while you are all sleeping. Will sit and read through all your recent posts while taking time out from a shrieking daughter, 6 gc's, a hungover (very) son in law and 2 teenage step grandsons. Other DD and her husband have taken off for 24 hours and left me to it - I think a recovery holiday on my return to the UK will definitely be on the cards.
It is Christmas Eve here, and true to form, no food has been ordered, never mind delivered, presents still have to be bought and the tree which was put up 2 weeks ago is looking decidedly droopy, the temperature having been low 30's all week. As it's almost The Day, the weather has turned and today is now a decidedly chilly and breezy 20 degrees. But, I must not grumble when reading of the atrocious weather you are all suffering. I hope every one is coping with the storm's after effects and you all have a very happy and merry Christmas Day and special greetings to dear soop and McSporran

And a special Christmas wish for dear Soop, that all the ill-health and troubles will be gone with the end of 2013, and that 2014 will bring health, wealth and happiness.

Just popped in to wish everyone a lovely Christmas and leave this bottle of blackberry brandy. It's over a year old now (I secreted a couple of bottles at the back of our wine cupboard - aka pantry) so may seem a bit syrupy - but it slides down a treat and warms the cockles of your heart. We're off to DD2 - the first time we've been Christmas cooked for - DH is getting quite emotional about it.

I second that, Lona...2013 was a good year for introducing new Granspals. Thank you and my warmest good wishes to each and every one of you lovely lot. No doubt we shall pop in and out of the kitchen during the next few days. I am leaving a huge bowl of mulled wine and a few special bite-size nibbles from M&S.
