Hello Songbird9, and welcome!

Hi Songbird and Welcome
I have only been on here a short while myself, but am finding it easier each day to find out information as well as learn something new. Everyone seems very friendly here and you will soon settle down with a nice brew or a glass of wine

All the best to your daughter on Thursday, hope you can phone or Skype her easily.

Take Care x

Hi Songbird. Welcome. I hope you enjoy Gransnet. Soop's kitchen is a lovely place to meet people! I often sneak in quietly and sit in the corner for a warm up. But I don't call in as often as I'd like - all that food may be calorie free but it really stirs up my appetite!

Songbird9 Mon 25-Nov-13 19:32:17

aaaaaw thankyou so much for the welcome.
Like the sound of soops kitchen [with wine lol] and her fluffy cat

Wecome Songbird9 and good luck on Thursday. It is so difficult if you are so far away. Rory, Soop's cat loves a cuddle and today or tomorrow seems a good time to make friends with him. He is a big softy and so handsome. I would take him home but my cat and Soop would not be best pleased.

Hi Songbird9, welcome to GN. You will find lots of friendly people on here but especially in soop's kitchen which has the longest squashiest sofa in the world, the food is tasty but totally non-fattening, there is plenty of brew even some wine and, most importantly, a cat called Rory

Do let us know how your daughter gets on. flowers

Welcome Songbird9. I had a mastectomy around 20 years ago and I am now fit and healthy - I know that won't stop you worrying but hope it brings you some comfort. Will be thinking of you and your daughter on Thursday flowers

Hello Songbird9 I don't post a lot, just the good morning things and social bits and pieces, but I am intrigue by the knowledge which abounds here, and it is interesting to read so many diverse views. What sort of crafting do you do? Would be good to see some of it if you can. Best wishes for your daughter on Thursday.

Songbird9 Mon 25-Nov-13 15:30:53

It'll be hard for you on Thursday, but if you feel like it, come on here. There'll always be someone to give a bit of support. flowers

HildaW Mon 25-Nov-13 15:28:12

Songbird9, so hard for you to be coping with your daughter's condition on your own. I have two daughters and would be beside myself if they were in similar situations. I do hope you can stay on GN a while and have a good chat. There are some lovely people around and many have coped with so much that they can offer a lot of support.
Its difficult to concentrate when you are worried, its so easy to let your mind wander onto whats bothering you.
Do try to keep strong and think positive thoughts, I wish you all the best and hope all goes well for you and your daughter.

Marelli Mon 25-Nov-13 15:26:52

Hello Songbird9, pleased to meet you. smile

Songbird9 Mon 25-Nov-13 15:23:32

thankyou Lona
I lost my OH three years ago and my Daughter is having a Mastectomy on Thursday. That has hit me hard, especially as she lives away from me, so I won't be able to visit her. My Son and his family live way up North, so unable to see them much either

Crafting is a great part of my life, although not been in the mood for it lately...It will come back eventually !

Mishap Mon 25-Nov-13 15:21:03

Welcome - we look forward to haring re about you.

Lona Mon 25-Nov-13 15:17:43

Welcome Songbird9, feel free to join in any chats, it's nice to meet you!

Songbird9 Mon 25-Nov-13 14:40:32

Hi! I have just joined this site, and I have been reading all your posts on the different forums, and you seem a cheery lot, so thought to give it a go. I live on my own and my neighbours are not ones to run in and out, which suits me, but it is a road where they all go to town in their cars, so don't know many even though I have lived here for 30+ years.

Hope you all have dry, sunny weather today
